iShowSpeed livestreams World Cup match as Lionel Messi sets record
Darren “iShowSpeed” Watkins Jr. went live with another memorable 2026 World Cup stream, and this time his least favorite player, Lionel Messi, was the star of the show.
It’s not a secret that iShowSpeed is a Cristiano Ronaldo fanboy, which makes him biased against Lionel Messi because of the rivalry between the two legends. Speed was at the Argentina vs Austria match at the
2026 World Cup, rooting for the European team by wearing their shirt. The YouTuber had his dad and brother with him again, and his father was
once again supporting the opposite team to iShowSpeed. This latest broadcast was more up iShowSpeed’s alley, as he got the chance to troll Messi and his reactions were absolutely memorable.
iShowSpeed walks out of stadium as Lionel Messi sets records
The American YouTuber started his latest broadcast stating that he wants to see “What Messi’s got”. This didn’t sit well with a nearby Argentina fan who asked Speed, “What’s Ronaldo got?” This started a lighthearted moment between the two where iShowSpeed defended Ronaldo by saying, “He has 935 goals,” and the other man questioned, “Where is his World Cup trophy?” This left Speed a bit silenced, and the YouTuber moved on. If this isn’t enough, Speed’s own brother, Jamal, also trolled him later in the broadcast by
sneakily getting the creator to sign a board with Messi’s picture.

iShowSpeed had predicted that Austria would win 2-1, so the rest of the broadcast was particularly enjoyable for viewers because of how poorly the team played. However, in a wholesome moment, Speed sang the Argentinian anthem word for word,
showing that he may troll Messi, but he respects the country. The YouTuber also promised that he would do 100 backflips if Austria beats Argentina.
His excitement was visible when Argentina got a penalty, but Messi missed it. Messi fans still continued trolling Speed by putting up a large picture of the footballer right in front of the YouTuber. Soon after, Messi scored the first goal of the match, making him the player with the most goals in the FIFA World Cup’s history, emulating Miroslav Klose of Germany.

Speed was visibly upset by this development, as Argentina were now in a strong position and they continued to create multiple chances with Messi looking lively despite him turning 39 on June 24. This led to more ribbing from Argentina supporters, and even the YouTuber’s dad and brother said they were rooting for Messi to score another goal.
Messi eventually scored his second of the match to secure the 2-0 win with his fifth goal of the tournament; this led to iShowSpeed leaving the stadium in Dallas. The YouTuber ended up getting in an argument with his brother in the car and
went to a local Walmart to calm down,
but seeing Messi’s jerseys everywhere poured salt on his wounds.
All in all, Speed chose a truly historic event to continue his
World Cup tour in the United States
and it remains to be seen which stadium he pops up in next.
