Baki Hanma Season 2 Part 2 wrapped with the long-awaited brawl between Baki and Yujiro, but will there be a season 3?
Baki became a surprise hit among Western anime fans when it arrived on Netflix in 2018. That didnāt slow down with the pivot to Baki Hanma, either. The epic brawl against Biscuit Oliva was followed by the fan-favorite Pickle arc, which kicked the seriesā savagery to a whole new level.
While the fight between Baki and Yujiro is, in some ways, the conclusion of the Baki series, things donāt end there. They just wonāt be happening in a third season.
The Baki Hanma anime series will not have a third season. However, a sequel is in development, adapting the Baki-Dou manga series for the screen.
TMS Entertainment, the anime studio behind Baki and Baki Hanma, announced the news on its YouTube channel on March 31, 2024. The company also released a brief teaser trailer featuring animated frames from the manga.

The trailer also confirmed that the series will only cover the first Baki-Dou manga. There were two separate series entitled Baki-Dou, the first starting in 2014 and the second starting in 2018. Both series are Romanized as āBaki-Douā but use different Japanese characters, which makes them distinct series.
Unfortunately, beyond those details, thereās little known about the series. Thereās no info on a possible premiere date or how it will come out. Itās possible that it could be released on Japanese linear television, but thereās been no indication from Netflix that it will host the series.
Baki Hanma was among the most-watched animated series on Netflix in 2023, so thereās no question that it will receive a Western release when it comes out. However, itās not yet confirmed where or when that will be. If it doesnāt return to Netflix, itās also uncertain whether the same English voice cast will be tapped to return.
Baki-Dou directly follows the events of Baki Hanma. It kicks off by showing all the characters in a state of crushing boredom after the greatest father-son fight of all time. Each of the characters handles this in their own way, with Kaio Retsu walking away from boxing, Katsumi Orochi continuing to develop one-armed martial arts, Kaoru Hanayama picking his own fight with Yujiro, and the list goes on.
Tokugawa has his own deranged way to fix this, though. He unearths the skeleton of legendary samurai Miyamoto Musashi and brings it to a secret laboratory buried deep underneath Tokyo. There, he uses a combination of black magic and mad science to pull the swordsman out of the ether and into the modern world. When the regular fighters of the Tokyo Dome Underground Arena hear of this, they descend upon him looking for a fight.
