Thomas Chance “Sodapoppin” Morris has finally updated fans on the fate of OnlyFangs and a potential Season 3 for the WoW hardcore guild full of streamers.
World of Warcraft has seen a massive resurgence in popularity in the 2020s. Despite some controversial expansions and uncertain feelings about developer Blizzard, World of Warcraft continued to showcase why it’s still the number one MMORPG in the world. The OnlyFangs guild did its own part by bringing some of the most chaotic moments in hardcore classic WoW to the game’s fans.
OnlyFangs recruits Twitch streamers, which is handy for viewers because it gives a plethora of perspectives for the guild’s most iconic moments. From the duel between Sodapoppin and Tyler “Tyler1” Steinkamp to the devastating raid wipes, OnlyFangs is something many in the WoW community yearn for.
Fortunately, those fans may get OnlyFangs Season 3 after all.
SodaPoppin has said that OnlyFangs is indeed likely to return for a third season, but only under specific conditions. On stream, SodaPoppin discussed the requirements for a potential Season 3. He states that if a new server allows them to progress to raids much faster, or if a hardcore version of The Burning Crusade were released, they would “give it a whirl.”
Given the difficulties encountered throughout Season 2, it’s easy to see why these requirements were set. Sodapoppin had achieved his goals for the guild with a full clear of the Blackwing Lair raid dungeon, and the raids were always the most popular parts of the OnlyFangs experience. A break also gives fans and the players some time away from hardcore WoW.
ONLYFANGS: THE FINAL RAID
Many fans feared OnlyFangs Season 2 would end poorly after recent DDoS attacks. The attacks, which coincided with OnlyFangs livestreams, resulted in the deaths of several high-level guild characters. Fortunately for OnlyFangs, Blizzard resolved the issue and rolled back the character deaths affected by the DDoS attacks.
Fans then tuned in for the final raid on Blackwing Lair with no DDoS attacks plagued the guild. The guild rejoiced as it finally beat Nefarian, and jokingly teabagged fallen members Pikaboo and Nymn, the only two deaths in the entire raid. With that, OnlyFangs Season 2 ended on a high note.
Sodapoppin also announced some other important news after the final raid.
With Sodapoppin steppnig down, WoW veteran Ahmpy has become the new OnlyFangs guild leader. While the guild has featured many colorful characters, Ahmpy is one of the most reliable players throughout its history. While he does troll viewers and guildmates sometimes, Sodapoppin has acknowledged him as being among the guild’s most experienced members and feels that he is the guild’s most capable leader moving forward.
His WoW experience and his easy camaraderie with other guild members made Ahmpy a popular choice for the new guild leader. Given how Sodapoppin lost his leadership position in a duel with Tyler1 last time, fans agreed this transfer of power was far more diplomatic.
AHMPY NEW WARCHIEF? – OnlyFangs Guild Meeting
The OnlyFangs guild remains active moving forward. The guild cleared Blackwing Lair in April 2025, marking the end of the guild’s current content season. While there’s no official “Season 3” yet, the guild does still exist. Expectations are simply different now, as many involved in the previous leadership group have moved on to other games.
While OnlyFangs may be on the back burner for a while, it had an undeniable impact on the World of Warcraft community. The guild inspired many players to pick up WoW Classic, particularly the game’s hardcore mode, including veterans and newbies alike. Whatever Blizzard has planned for hardcore WoW next, OnlyFangs members and their fans are likely keeping a close eye on it.
