After days of speculation online, Darren “iShowSpeed” Watkins Jr has just released his song for the 2026 World Cup. Entitled “World Cup (Champions)”, the 4-minute, 58-second track was released on YouTube on 1 June, garnering 510,000 views within 120 minutes.

iShowSpeed is one of the most recognizable streamers on the planet, and rumours began swirling that he was preparing to release a song for the 2026 World Cup after a video surfaced online of him filming content in Miami.

The 21-year-old’s 2026 anthem begins with him listing each of the 48 countries that will be appearing at the tournament, which has an extended format. He is seen wearing the colors of multiple nations, including Brazil, and also performs an impressive backflip whilst being shown in multiple different settings with many fans.

Miami music video rumours

The American YouTuber has already announced that he will be streaming during the tournament, which begins on 11 June, but a video posted on X showed him recording a music video in Miami, and this is what started speculation that a brand new release was imminent.

In a grainy high-energy clip originally posted by the X account @clippedszn on 28 May, Speed is seen dancing along and being filmed with professional equipment. He is joined by tens of extras waving the flags of various countries, including Argentina and Germany, and the video is captioned “POV: iShowSpeed is shooting a music video in front of your house.”

He was also seen filming content around Miami, which is hosting seven matches throughout the tournament at the Miami Stadium, starting with the Saudi Arabia vs Uruguay game on 15 June. One clip sees extras in football shirts during a night shoot, with a smoke machine in use, and another shows Speed in a football stadium with a drone filming content; he appears to be wearing a Portugal number seven jersey which belongs to Cristiano Ronaldo.

iShowSpeed and football

iShowSpeed is renowned for being a major football fan and has been on record saying that Ronaldo is his idol and Manchester United his favorite team. He has recorded plenty of content around the sport, most notably for the 2022 World Cup, where his song “World Cup” was a major viral success — it currently has 208 million views on YouTube.

With the tournament beginning next week, and iShowSpeed being at his peak popularity, he will be expecting numbers on YouTube that will compete with his 2022 release. It marks what has been a remarkably busy 2026 for the streamer so far — he had a highly successful Caribbean tour with plenty of viral moments, including livestreaming underwater.
