Opinion: It’s Getting Harder To Ignore Evidence That FNAF Is Coming to Fortnite

Five Nights at Freddy’s, or FNAF, has long been one of the most popular video games out there. Despite the original game’s simplistic nature, it spawned sequels, incredible lore, and a film franchise. It has yet, however, to ascend into the rarefied air that is a Fortnite crossover.

It has been leaked before. In fact, it was originally leaked in 2021, with subsequent rumors suggesting that it would finally arrive, but it never did — until now, possibly. Initially, the 99 Nights in the Forest collab in Chapter 7 Season 4 was thought to be FNAF, but it wasn’t. But there’s mounting evidence that the gaming-centric season will finally bring in the horror game.

FNAF x Fortnite might finally, actually be coming

It’s going to sound conspiratorial given the fact that we’ve had this conversation plenty of times before. This time, however, it really does seem like FNAF is coming to Fortnite. Obviously, it would fit since Sonic, Pac-Man, Spyro, Tetris, Mega Man, Persona, and others are confirmed for the current season.

But beyond that, there are reasons to believe. Leakers, including Egyptian Fortnite Leaker, on X have pointed out plenty of interesting notes. First, there is a building on the current map that is strangely similar to Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria. It is almost the exact same layout, providing a further bit of evidence.

Fortnite itself doubled down on that tease, though. The official account posted that the island contains secrets that need to be uncovered, as the screenshot below shows. In the post, there are four images. Three are of current gaming POIs, and the fourth is the rumored FNAF building.

On the other hand, Five Nights at Freddy’s has been teasing a collab. They’ve done this in the past only for it to be something else, but combine that with Fortnite’s own tease, and it’s hard to come to any other conclusion.

To top it all off, the lead producer for the Battle Royale has recently followed the official FNAF account on social media. There is a mountain of circumstantial evidence that the long-awaited collaboration might finally be happening.

However, it bears mentioning again that we’ve been down this road before. Never has there been more evidence or a more fitting time for the collab, but we’ve seen signs before. Those never came to fruition. This time, it feels very likely, but it remains an unconfirmed theory until an official announcement drops.
