IEM Rio 2026 will be one of the shorter Tier 1 events of the year, only running for seven days in total. The event will be played in front of a crowd, with the Farmasi Arena serving as the battleground for the playoffs stage. This stadium has the capacity for 15,000 to 18,000 Brazilian fans.

IEM Rio 2026 Teams

A total of 16 teams will make their trip to Brazil to compete for the IEM Rio 2026 title. 13 teams received invitations to the event via VRS rankings, while the remaining three had to battle it out through qualifiers.

Here are all IEM Rio 2026 teams, divided into their respective groups:

Group A Teams

Group B Teams

The tournament favorites are none other than Team Vitality, who are currently the undisputed best CS2 team in the world. However, teams like Team Falcons and Natus Vincere are motivated to get their revenge.

Format and Schedule

Seven days isn’t a long time to whittle down 16 teams all the way to a single winner. IEM Rio 2026 will move fast, using two tournament phases. If you’re going to bet on these CS2 matches, it’s important to understand the scale of each phase.

Group Stage (April 13-15)

The 16 participating teams are divided into two groups.

This format pretty much means teams have two lives. Losing a series will send them down to the lower bracket, and losing another means they’re eliminated from the tournament.

By the end of the group stage, only six teams will remain, while 12 are immediately sent packing. Teams cannot afford to start slow.

Playoffs (April 17-19)

The six group stage survivors are seeded into a playoffs bracket.

Like most Counter-Strike tournaments, the playoffs for IEM Rio 2026 is single-elimination. This means one loss and you’re immediately out of contention for the trophy.

Prize Pool and Distribution

There’s a lot on the line at IEM Rio 2026, as teams vie for the lion’s share of the $1,000,000 prize pool. This is how the prize pool will be distributed:
