Who Is Inde Navarrette? Former Twitch Streamer Lands Role in X-Men

Marvel has announced a former Twitch streamer for a major role in the upcoming X-Men movie, with Inde Navarrette set to appear in the MCU X-Men reboot.
Major streamers have long been considered celebrities who appear on livestreaming platforms, and viewers can subscribe to support them. However, there has been a thin line between streamers and mainstream or Hollywood celebrities. A former streamer has now crossed that line by entering Hollywood and landing a massive role. Inde Navarrette has stopped streaming, but her celebrity status certainly began on Twitch.
Inde Navarrette will play Rogue in X-Men
Marvel officially revealed at the 2026 D23 event that Inde Navarrette will be playing the famous character Rogue in the MCU X-Men reboot. The movie is expected to release on May 5, 2028, and if it follows the previous X-Men movies, then Inde Navarrette’s role may be a significant part of the reboot as well. Marvel has introduced mutants in the MCU, so it was already expected that the studio would unveil the rest of the cast. Inde Navarrette’s addition has been met with mixed reactions from fans, with some praising her as a good fit and others questioning if she will be able to fill the shoes of the previous actors, but this isn’t her first stint in Hollywood.

The actor appeared as Sarah Cushing in Superman & Lois and Estela de la Cruz in 13 Reasons Why. However, her breakthrough role came through the movie Obsession, where she played the role of Nikki Freeman. Inde Navarrette’s acting was praised by critics, but she faced an 18-month drought, relying on streaming and dogwalking to earn money. The actor eventually deleted her old videos, stating that she wouldn’t be taken seriously with her gaming content. However, Inde Navarrette also said that she would love to stream but doesn’t have the time anymore.

Inde Navarrette began her streaming career in 2020 during the global health pandemic, and her content revolved around games. She reportedly built her own PC and started streaming Call of Duty, The Last of Us, Outlast, and other popular titles. One of her previous clips resurfaced in 2026, where Inde Navarrette was visible playing Call of Duty while wearing a Toad hat. The actor’s Twitch channel currently sits at just above 150,000 followers, with no videos, and she has been inactive for over a year.
Editor’s analysis: Streamers are getting Hollywood exposure
Inde Navarrette isn’t the first streamer to enter the mainstream entertainment industry. Other creators such as Darren “iShowSpeed” Watkins Jr., Rachell “Valkyrae” Hofstetter, and Kai Cenat have also worked in the broader entertainment world. Speed was part of the FIFA World Cup 2026 and even performed at the closing ceremony. Valkyrae has done several voice-acting gigs and interviewed Zendaya at the LA red carpet for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, while Kai Cenat is reportedly on the cast of the upcoming Scary Movie 6.
The top streamers have shown how massive followings can be generated on livestreaming platforms, with viewers even supporting creators despite their free-to-consume content. Inde Navarrette is smaller than the three above-mentioned streamers by a large margin, but she also started with minor roles before her acting talent helped her finally land a major MCU role.
These examples, particularly Inde Navarrette’s selection as Rogue, display how serious Hollywood is taking the livestreaming industry. Actor Mark Wahlberg recently appeared in a stream with Rangesh “N3on” Mutama, stating that streamers are taking over Hollywood marketing. This mainstream exposure for streamers is expected to become even more commonplace, and more creators may benefit from it.
