Kick streamer Paul “Ice Poseidon” Denino is once again in the limelight, and this time it’s due to the controversies he’s embroiled in during his Japan IRL streams.

Poseidon is known for two things: his IRL content and the controversies surrounding his outrageous actions. The streamer was previously kicked off a cruise, following several complaints from other guests for various actions. He is in hot water again, as Ice Poseidon’s latest Japan trip is filled with controversies.

Ice Poseidon apparently banned from Pokémon store in Japan

Speculation arose about Ice Poseidon being banned from the Pokémon store in Japan after the streamer was denied entry: clips went viral of Ice Poseidon attempting to go inside a Pokémon store, but being stopped by a female employee who had the streamer’s picture. The employee stopped him from entering and reportedly said “no cameras,” but it’s unclear why she had a picture of Ice Poseidon. The IRL streamer even asked the employee why she had his picture in her possession, but no answer was given.

The creator was ultimately able to bypass this alleged ban by tweaking his getup. He changed his clothes, wore sunglasses and a hat, and was apparently able to go into the store to buy Pokémon card packs. It’s still unverified whether Ice Poseidon was really banned from the store, but this isn’t the only controversial element of the streamer’s Japan trip. Ironically, Ice Poseidon was later seen seemingly littering the Pokémon cards. Japan’s laws against littering are strict, with the crime reportedly punishable with jail time and/or a fine in Japan.

Another viral clip shows Japanese police seemingly stopping, questioning, and searching Ice Poseidon. The user who shared the clips claimed that Ice Poseidon was being troublesome, which is what led to him being searched. Some rumors also suggest that someone was actively reporting Ice Poseidon’s current location to businesses and police, which is why the streamer faced these issues.

Ice Poseidon isn’t the only one getting into controversial stunts, as another streamer part of his group, Ozemi, poured something on Japanese creator Nanatty. This incident occurred after allegations that Nanatty used a racial slur against Ozemi. Nanatty was seen approaching police officers after the incident, and there were rumors that there was a warrant for Ozemi, who claimed the poured liquid was beer, and police were searching for him. Both claims remain unverified, but highlight a larger problem with the way Ice Poseidon broadcasts IRL content. This also isn’t the first time Ice Poseidon has been involved in controversies in Japan.

Ice Poseidon’s controversial 2025 IRL Japan tour

In 2025, Ice Poseidon got in trouble with police officers in Japan when another streamer, ABZ, was picking and eating tangerines from a tree. Viewers were unsure what went wrong, and police were also unable to converse with the streamer because of a language barrier. The streamers and police were eventually able to talk using a translator, and the group was reportedly taken back to the police station. It was later reported that the issue was littering, as the streamers were throwing the tangerines after eating.

Ice Poseidon also faced an issue when he was barred from boarding a ferry despite having a ticket. This was reportedly due to the streamer’s previous controversial actions, leading to the ferry operator not wanting the streamer to board. One of the stunts involved egging a Japanese lady on to insult the Yakuza in English. The streamer also disrupted passengers on a train by lying on seats and fighting. All those issues combined could explain why the public, businesses, and police were wary during Ice Poseidon’s 2026 Japan trip.
