Kick GO Live

Kick is making IRL streaming even simpler by letting creators go live directly from their phones. With the newly-launched Kick GO Live app, starting a face-cam stream takes just a few steps.

Mobile streaming is by no means a revolutionary idea. In fact, creators could already stream from their phones on Kick, but it was a tedious process. Without a third-party app and a dozen hoops to jump through, streaming from mobile simply was not possible — but Kick GO Live changes all of that.

The application is surprisingly simple, and comes with all basic features you’d see for a smooth, hiccup-free IRL stream. Here’s how to use it.

How to stream from the Kick mobile app?

To stream from Kick’s new mobile app, you will first need to download Kick GO Live. This is not the same as Kick’s existing live streaming app on mobile, which will most likely be the first result to pop up when you search for Kick in the App Store or Google Play. What you want is Kick GO Live, which is a standalone application exclusively for creators who want to start a livestream, not watch one.

Once you have downloaded the app:

  1. Sign in using your existing Kick account details
  2. Tap the pen icon in the top corner to open the edit menu
  3. Update your stream title from the default “My first stream” to anything you like
  4. Set your category and add relevant tags to help the right audience find you
  5. Tap the green button at the center of the screen to proceed

This is all you need to do to go live from Kick mobile. The application may be simple, but it has all the necessary features to run a smooth IRL stream.

It’s all pretty straightforward, but creators would find the connection drop protection to be highly useful in lengthy streams. In case of a network issue, the stream will pick right up as you reconnect. The main camera will be the back camera POV, and you’ll also have an option to toggle on/off your front camera. You can keep both cameras at the same time to capture your surroundings and your reaction at the same time. This follows Ice Poseidon recently showing off the dual camera functionality.

Compared to going live from a desktop setup, this method is about as simple as it gets. No technical knowledge required, and virtually anyone can be live on Kick GO within minutes, making it one of the most notable additions to IRL streaming in years.
