How to play San Quentin Manhunt: NoLimit City’s latest prison slot

Convicted felons Crazy Joe Labrador, Beefy Dick, Loco Luis, Biker Bill, and Heinrich the Third are back in the San Quentin Manhunt slot. This is the third chapter in the San Quentin franchise, the popular prison-themed slot series from Nolimit City. The first two — San Quentin xWays and San Quentin 2: Death Row — gained plaudits following their releases in 2021 and 2024 respectively.
They did come with monstrous wins, 150,000x on San Quentin xWays and 200,000x on San Quentin 2: Death Row. They brought xMechanics, enhancer cells, bonus rounds, and, more importantly, they were successful in keeping the five inmates locked behind concrete walls with barbed wire fences, with their every move monitored on the guard towers and surveillance cameras.
Enter San Quentin Manhunt, and now it’s peak chaos. The prisoners are on the run but is it finally a successful prison break? The manhunt is on, and a top prize of 46,532x has been announced, but what else can you expect from the San Quentin Manhunt slot?

How to Play San Quentin Manhunt
The wins are not as monstrous as with its prequels, and it features a new design with a scatter pays engine and a grid multiplier that expands from 6×5 to 6×7. But how you play the San Quentin Manhunt slot remains the same. Here is how you go about it:
- Find a new crypto casino offering NoLimit City games; Stake is one option
- Launch it in the San Quentin Manhunt demo or real money mode
- The bet size is between $0.20 and $100 per spin
- Tap the ‘Spin’ button after setting your bet size to start the game
- You win if you match 7 or more symbols on the reels
Object symbols are the low-paying ones. They include a pink bar of soap, a tissue paper roll, handcuffs, a vaseline jar, and a makeshift weapon, paying between 0.10x and 1x. The high-paying symbols are represented by the five inmates, paying between 0.3x and 3x.
San Quentin gameplay
All action on the San Quentin Manhunt slot takes place in a 6×5 gaming grid. While it starts with 18 unlocked positions, the grid can expand to 6×7. This offers new opportunities to form winning combinations. Contrary to the first installment (San Quentin xWays), which offered 243 ways to win, and the second installment (San Quentin 2: Death Row), which offered 1,024 ways to win, San Quentin Manhunt switches to a scatter pays system.
In the scatter pays system, players must match 7 or more same-kind symbols on the reels to form a winning combination. From there, the cascading reels mechanism kicks in with symbols involved in the winning combo being cleared, and new ones fall into the spaces to potentially form new combos. This is a thoroughly modern mechanic that gives the slot an almost video game feel, which is in stark contrast to the studio’s Supersized slot, for example, which leaned into satire.
San Quentin Manhunt Bonus Features
The secret sauce is in the slot multiple bonus features, which Nolimit City is never shy of. It includes the slot multiplier blocks, enhancer reels, different bonus rounds, and NoLimit boosters, which are essentially bonus buy options. These are all features that are beloved by casino streamers, so we expect to see creators recording some major wins in the near future.
Multiplier Blocks
Each reel position has a multiplier that comes to life after a symbol’s win. It will double each time the position forms part of the win, by xSplit, or when it’s affected by cell search. The maximum multiplier applied is x128.

Enhancer Cells
Each reel has locked top and bottom Enhancer Cells. They spin independently and reveal an inmate or other feature symbol when unlocked, except for the scatter symbol. These features are:
- Cake Buster: Unlocks a locked reel position, revealing a wild. Turns into a wild if no locked reel position remains.
- xWays: Transforms into an inmate symbol and reveals 2-4 same-kind symbols.
- xSplit: Doubles multiplier blocks and transforms into an inmate symbol.
- Yard Dealer: Selects an object symbol at random and transforms it to a high-paying object symbol, then an inmate symbol.
- Cell Search: Activates when there’s no win, and collects the lowest-paying symbol, adds a multiplier for each collected symbol, then transforms to a wild.

Guard Tower Bonus
The Enhancer Cells in a reel unlock when you land a Bonus symbol during the base game. You can then activate the following free spin rounds after landing Bonus symbols:
- 3 Bonus symbols: Sewer Escape Spins
- 4 Bonus symbols: Manhunt Spins
Sewer Escape Spins
The number of spins will be determined by the Bonus Setup Mode just before the bonus round starts. Then the following happens:
- Every +1 symbol landing adds another spin. The minimum spins to be awarded will be six (6).
- Locked reels will get a sticky multiplier of either x2, x4, x8, or x16.
- Multiplier Block values remain persistent and are capped at x128.
- Unlocked reel positions remain unlocked during the round.
- 2-4 Bonus symbols award +2, +3, and +3 spins, respectively.
Manhunt Spins
The bonus round has all the features of the Sewer Escape Spins rounds, but Multiplier Block values are capped at x512. Manhunt spins also create locked positions on the corners of the grid to increase chances of huge payouts.
NoLimit Booster
You can skip the game and get right into the bonus action at a price, as follows:
- Bonus Booster: Land at least one Bonus symbol at 2.5x the bet.
- 2x Bonus Booster: Land at least two Bonus symbols at 10x the bet.
- 2x Bonus + Open x64 Booster: Land at least two Bonus symbols and a x64 multiplier on unlocked positions at 100x the bet
- 2x Bonus + All x128 Booster: Land at least two Bonus symbols and a x128 multiplier on all reels at 3,000x the bet.San Quentin Manhunt RTP, Volatility, and Max Win
San Quentin Munhunt RTP stands at 96.15% and is an extremely volatile slot. It means they have extremely high potential for massive payouts but inconsistent frequency. They also possess high risk levels.
The max win for the San Quentin Manhunt slot is 46,532x, offering a nice balance for most players, though there are plenty of other NoLimit City games with enhanced RTP if that is what you value above all else.
