What is Content King?
In Content King you take on the role of young content-creator Caden Brentley, an up-and-coming livestreamer who is ready to do anything he can in order to get famous. The world is set as a clear parody of both Kick and Twitch as well as the streamers from both platforms.
The aim for the player is to engage Caden in all kinds of crazy stunts, collaborations to create the content that will see him go viral and land an increasing number of viewers.
However, what makes Content King very different to the more sanitised world of a game like The Sims, is that you have the option to do an increasing number of crazy things in order to attract viewers. However, there are limitations — stream something too extreme for the moderators and you could be facing a dreaded ban; this mirrors real-life examples with Canezerra recently receiving a 12-month ban.
Additionally, Content King isn’t completely a Sandbox game. It retains elements of that freedom, but the game is structured, although the players do have considerable freedom in terms of the content they create and the decisions that they take for Caden.
As such, there is an open-ended element to the game and players can follow their own journey to reach their own conclusion.
However, the real heart and soul in the game comes from the creation of content and it is here where Content King excels, with a wealth of choices available for the player to do crazier and crazier stunts, as well as being able to interact with both digital and real life streamers, some of whom make voice cameos in the game.

How to Play Content King
To answer this we need to answer a few simple questions about the gameplay in Content King, starting with the ultimate goal of the game.
What do I need to do?
The aim of Content King is simple: make Caden the biggest livestreamer online by creating content. To do this, you can document every aspect of his life to create content. However, the catch is, your content has to be exciting, dangerous, controversial and appealing enough to gain you viewers and increase your influence, without falling foul of the moderators and landing a ban.
In short, the riskier, more controversial and more exciting the content you create, the more likely it is to appeal, but it is also more likely to fall foul of the censors and end up with a ban.
The skill in Content King is treading that fine line, so you don’t become boring to viewers, but also don’t do anything so dreadful you earn a lifetime ban. There is definitely a realism to gameplay, with popular streamer Clavicular moving to Twitch after getting a Kick ban.

How do I achieve that?
What makes Content King so exciting is that you are dropped into this world and then given every opportunity to create content. Even something as straightforward as having your breakfast can be a turned into a viral masterpiece if you know how.
That said, there are three main ways that you can generate some of the more appealing content for Caden’s channel.
- Interacting with NPCs (this includes a number of other real-world streamers, internet personalities and more)
- Triggering conversations, events and grudges to develop a storyline that will appeal to viewers. For example, creating a beef with another streamer, or alternatively, becoming a buddy with them, or do you collaborate with them to enhance both your content and appeal?
- Mini-games and random activities which can be triggered at certain points and locations within the game.
As you progress through the game, the actions you take will translate into progress by measuring three key aspects of your online persona:
- Viewer Count
- Influence
- The Outcomes to the Stories you start
The choices you make when you play the game will help you either to become a fan-favourite creator, loved by millions, or a controversial creator who attracts fans because of some of the appalling things they have done. Or, you could even be the guy who had a promising online persona, but was banned before it could develop any further.
So now you are ready to play the game, but below we’ve given you some useful hints and tips to help guide you on your first play of Content King.
Content King – Hints and Tips
- Don’t go full crazy mode early. Content that is too risky and extreme will see you banned a long time before you earn fame.
- Combine safe content with more risky content to grow your popularity steadily.
- Use your interactions with NPCs wisely. NPCs play a much bigger role in Content King than in other titles, so be careful which relationships you choose to build and which you burn.
- Use mini-games for repeatable clips that help gain you viewers quickly.
However, the real beauty in Content King is you can play it exactly how you like and the open-natured structure of the game will mean that Caden will get the ending that your choices have merited.
