Fallacy of No Return is an Overworld-class boss that Wuthering Waves players can fight and defeat to get excellent rewards and an Echo skill. Here’s how to go about it.
Wuthering Waves is one of the few surviving Genshin Impact-like gachas with a sizeable playing audience. With gameplay mechanics focusing more on making the combat and exploration loop fun, developer Kuro Games has separated itself from many of the already-established games in the genre.
In addition to its dynamic combat, Wuthering Waves is best known for its bosses. Fallacy of No Return is one of the bosses players can battle multiple times in order to get ascension materials and more. Here’s how to beat Fallacy of No Return in Wuthering Waves and the rewards for defeating it.
Players can unlock the Fallacy of No Return boss in Wuthering Waves after finishing Chapter 1 Act VIII.
Fallacy of No Return is part of the main story’s Chapter 1 Act 8: To the Shore’s End. Players can fast-travel to its location using the nearby Resonance Beacon after defeating Fallacy of No Return the first time. The beacon will take them to Data Torrent in Tethys’ Deep. Those looking for Fallacy of No Return’s Tactical Hologram can find it in the center of the arena near the pier in Thorncrown Rises.
Fallacy of No Return has two distinct forms. It has a hammer in the first form and two deadly giant arms in the second. The first form is fairly straightforward as players can use perfect dodges to evade its attacks and counter to chip off its health bar. The second form can cause some problems as it’s more mobile and aerial. Using ranged characters is the way to go here, though characters with strong aerial dominance such as Changli are also viable.
During the battle, Fallacy of No Return will start charging an attack while glowing red, signaling its overclock state. With a high resistance to interruptions in this state, Wuthering Waves players will want to start going on the defensive and attack from a range, or focus purely on avoiding its attacks until the state resolves.
WuWa players can get an Echo skill and an ascension material after defeating Fallacy of No Return. The boss can also drop the regular Shell Credits, Union EXP, Energy Cores, Resonance Potions, and Sealed Tubes.
Gamers can get a cost-4 Echo with the Rejuvenating Glow Sonata effect. At Rarity 2, the Echo unleashes a blast dealing Spectro damage equal to 11.40% of max health to surrounding enemies while healing the Resonator’s energy for an additional 10%. Every team member also gets a 10% attack bonus for 20 seconds, allowing the player to follow up with other characters.
Holding the Echo skill allows users to hit a flurry of attacks while consuming stamina, with every hit dealing Spectro damage equal to 1.14% of maximum health. Releasing the button will end the attack with a powerful blow dealing Spectro damage equal to 14.25% of max health. All of these percentages increase depending on the Echo skill’s rarity, with rarity 5 being the strongest.
The level-up material obtained after defeating the Fallacy of No Return is called the Topological Confinement. The three Resonators who use the Topological Confinement for ascension are Cameliya, The Shorekeeper, and Youhu.
Additionally, Fallacy of No Return has three Wuthering Waves trophies tied to it. The first requires players to defeat it once, rewarding players with 5 Astrite when they do, while the second gives players an additional 5 Astrite for beating it in co-op mode. The final trophy requires players to defeat Fallacy of No Return 50 times for 10 Astrite.
