You can forget about a larger grid and cascading mechanics in this latest release, as Le Bandit Hold and Win strips everything back to a more retro-feeling 3×3 grid, but with nine fixed paylines.

In addition, your focus is now switched towards collecting coins, landing jackpots and triggering either of the two Hold & Win features that give the slot its name.

This produces a medium volatility slot, with an RTP of up to 96.27% and a modest top jackpot prize of 2,500x your bet; it is available at leading crypto casinos.

While Smokey will be familiar to anybody that has played any of the ‘Le’ series of games from Hacksaw, the gameplay for Le Bandit Hold And Win is markedly different to previous games from the slot provider.

With just three reels and three rows, this has the look and feel of a more retro-styled slot. However, there are nine paylines in play on each spin, meaning three matching symbols landed across any of those paylines will trigger a win.

Lower value symbols are the standard playing card icons King and Ace, with the higher value symbols continuing the Parisienne theme including baguettes, Smokey’s hat and handcuffs.

Most of the action in the game revolves around the Coin symbols. They can be Bronze (worth 0.2x and 2x the stake), Silver (3x to 9x) and Gold Coins (between 10x and 50x) the stake.

Land one or two coins on a spin and this doesn’t trigger a win, but the coins are collected in the pot. However, land three coins and this will see you land a win.

However, there is another symbol on the reels which could see that win transformed into one of the four Jackpot prizes available in the game.

If you land a combination of two or more Coins and a Jackpot Marker on a spin, then you will win the Jackpot prize shown by the marker.

There are four jackpot prizes, each based on a multiplier of your stake.

• Mini – 5x
• Major – 25x
• Mega – 250x
• Grand – 2500x

In truth, the jackpots are the standout gameplay features. For big wins, other slots in the series, such as Le Fisherman, have proven a hit with streamers.

Rainbow Fortune Hold & Win Bonus

Land a Rainbow Scatter on the reels in the base game and you trigger the Rainbow Fortune Hold & Win Bonus.

This feature sees you start with three lives. Each spin sees any Special Symbols that land held in place, while if you land a Coin, Jackpot Marker, Clover or Pot of Gold symbol, this resets your number of lives remaining back to three.

This creates the ‘Hold & Win’ process that gives the game its name as you hold the symbols for successive spins to try and collect more special symbols and create bigger wins.

The Clover symbols landed contain multipliers from 2x up to 20x and this can increase the values accumulated by coins when won.

The Pot of Gold symbol collects all the coin values displayed on the reels and collects them when landed (applying any Clover multipliers in the process). This creates room for more symbols to appear on subsequent spins.

Rainbow Epic Drop Hold & Win Bonus

The other bonus game uses the same mechanics as the Rainbow Fortune bonus, but the Epic Rainbow Scatter will see the entire 3×3 grid filled with special symbols, including one Pot of Gold and one Coin guaranteed.

You then follow the same process of spinning the reels to land special symbols to increase your win value and refill your lives.
