2025 was at times mixed bag for both HLE and T1. HLE started the year strong by winning the 2025 First Stand tournament before slowing, while T1 struggled at times early in the year but finished very strong with a massive win at the 2025 League of Legends World Championship. With HLE now having two former T1 players in Zeus and Gumayusi, the looming question is whether it can beat the reigning Worlds winner head-to-head.

HLE vs T1 match overview

Betting tip: HLE and T1 are among the strongest professional League of Legends teams in the world, suggesting that the match may go the distance.

Our HLE vs T1 pick: Total maps to be over 2.5 @ 1.94.

HLE vs T1 match overview

It wouldn’t be a stretch to say that T1 has the strongest currently active support and jungler players. Oner has been extremely consistent since Worlds, while Keria’s impact on every T1 match is significant. While HLE’s Kanavi and Delight are as individually skilled in comparison, Hanwha Life Esports stands out thanks to its highly tactical approach to most every match.

As seen in last year’s Kespa Cup, these two teams are fairly close in skill, especially with Gumayusi joining HLE. It may be a good idea to take the over on 2.5 maps played for the upcoming match, especially considering the pick’s potentially greater return on its odds and the recent history of both teams.

While Peyz has already settled into his role as T1’s ADC, the recent shift from the LPL team JD Gaming to T1 may mean the player performs a little passively as he reacclimates himself to the LCK stage. With Gumayusi’s newfound confidence from his excellent performance at Worlds, the ADC’s aggressiveness could potentially lead HLE to get the first blood’s gold bonus, potentially making that a smart pick.

As for which team will win, HLE’s Kanavi still seems to be familiarizing himself with his new team, seemingly resulting in communication gaps between the jungler and his new teammates. With T1’s individual skill level and excellent teamwork more firmly in place, the team could potentially get its first win in this split, bringing it closer to the playoffs.

HLE vs T1 betting picks & predictions

Most of T1’s players have settled into their roles on the team, as showcased at Worlds. By contrast, HLE recruited a new ADC and jungler, the two roles that arguably play the largest parts in a team’s winning. While HLE will likely benefit from the roster changes as the split continues and the new blood settles into the new flow of things, we agree with the odds that HLE will likely lose to T1 here.
