MatchHLE vs Gen.G – 2026 LCK Cup
Start timeFebruary 1, 2026, at 3:00 am ET
Our pickGen.G to win, under 3.5 maps
Betting favoriteGen.G

Gen.G may have stumbled at last year’s League of Legends World Championship, but the team is going undefeated in the ongoing LCK Cup’s group battle stage. By contrast, HLE’s performance has left much to be desired, despite the addition of Gumayusi as the team’s ADC. This unexpectedly poor performance leads many to question whether HLE will be able to bounce back in this stage’s last match against Gen.G.

HLE vs Gen.G match preview

Betting tip: HLE’s disappointing losses to NS Redforce and T1 suggest that the team may not be able to win even a single map against the powerhouse that is Gen.G.

Our HLE vs Gen.G pick: The match to have under 3.5 games played @ 3.09 odds.

HLE vs Gen.G match analysis

Many of HLE’s players have already proven their skills, whether it’s Zeus in the top lane, Gumayusi as the team’s ADC, or Kanavi as the jungler. But individual skill hasn’t been enough for this team, as its players haven’t been able to work alongside each other properly in the ongoing split so far. Their next opponent, Gen.G, has been together for enough time to ensure that its players are always on the same page, and that could spell trouble for Hanwha Life Esports.

Hanwha Life has been very passive in its play this split, likely due to its many recent losses. The team will want to take things slow against an opponent like Gen.G, which could even help Gen.G get a good advantage at the start. Because of this, it may be a good idea to side with Gen.G getting first blood.

HLE has thus far only won against BRION and SOOPers. The team won one map against T1 before losing there as well, and failed to win a single game against NS. On the other hand, Gen.G hasn’t lost a single game in this split, and it’s unlikely to lose against HLE.

While HLE will likely perform much better as Gumayusi further settles into his role on his new team, the best idea now may be to side with Gen.G dominating this match and winning in straight maps. Taking the under on 3.5 maps has a high potential return, and Gen.G’s current form can make it a reality.

HLE vs Gen.G betting picks & predictions

Both teams may have been considered among the world’s strongest last year, but HLE’s performance has since stagnated. With the pressure of the super week now being on the team, it’s unlikely to perform very well here, potentially giving Gen.G an easy win and letting the team complete this stage without a single loss.
