The Elden Ring: Nightreign network test is coming sooner than fans are expecting; here’s how to sign up, which platforms will be included, and whether it’s coming to PC.
Elden Ring had a famously long development, at least by FromSoftware standards. It was revealed in 2019, with little more being said in the following years. When the 2021 network test began ahead of its 2022 release, it gave fans a look at the game and answered many questions about what it brought to the table.
Though Elden Ring itself is well-known at this point, its upcoming Nightreign spin-off is different enough that many fans are wondering how it works. Those questions will be answered soon; here’s how to get the answers yourself.
Players can sign up to take part in the Elden Ring: Nightreign network test by signing up on the game’s official website.
The Nightreign network test is set to be much the same as the one seen with the base game. To get in on the action, players simply need to visit the game’s official website and sign up. Applications for the Elden Ring: Nightreign network test open on January 10, 2025. The test itself begins in February. Players will have to complete a short sign-up form and select a console.

Similar network tests, including the original Elden Ring test, ask players to apply to a specific platform. From there, players are chosen seemingly at random, with some possible exceptions made for media and influencers. Bandai Namco and FromSoftware typically work closely with prominent content creators, allowing YouTubers to create content regarding the network tests after their release. The overwhelming majority of players will simply have to cross their fingers.
Though players will surely be excited about getting into the network test, that doesn’t mean it grants access to the game. After the network test ends, everyone will need to purchase the game upon its full release.
The Elden Ring: Nightreign network test is exclusively reserved for Xbox and PlayStation consoles. PC players should not expect to have access to the first network test, or possibly any others.
The website for the network tests only confirms access for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S players. There’s no confirmation that any network tests for the game will happen for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One consoles. This is despite the fact that the game is slated for release on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
PC gamers being left out of the action is no surprise. The original Elden Ring’s network test was exclusive to Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. Though PC was among the most popular platforms for the game, it was not a part of the network tests. Instead, the tests ran strictly across consoles.
