Content creator Hasan “HasanAbi” Parker is currently embroiled in a fresh wave of allegations, and the situation has seemingly led Imane “Pokimane” Anys and Lily “LilyPichu” Ki to decide not to air an already-shot podcast episode featuring Hasan.

Hasan is one of the most controversial figures in the streaming world, seemingly embroiled in new drama every week. The streamer is currently facing significant outrage from viewers and some other content creators for alleged abuse directed towards his dog. While Hasan had denied the allegations, sentiment is strongly against him. The withdrawal of a podcast set to feature him is just the latest sign of the issue spiraling.

What did Hasan do?

Hasan is accused of using a shock collar to confine his dog to a specific area during a recent broadcast, rather than allowing the dog to move out of frame of his stream.

The verdict is still out on whether or not Hasan used a shock collar on his dog. Fellow steamer Rachell “Valkyrae” Hofstetter came out to his support while claiming Piker loves his dog, but she has received significant backlash of her own. Hasan has also since come out and denied using a shock collar while trying to debunk the allegations.

That hasn’t much helped, as many in the community is still calling for Twitch to take action against Hasan. As the platform remains silent, other content creators are calling out Hasan, and the video of the alleged abuse has also gone viral. Pokimane and LilyPichu are the latest names in an ongoing list apparently distancing themselves from Hasan Piker after his latest in a line of public controversies.

Pokimane and LilyPichu released an official statement informing viewers that Hasan’s podcast episode won’t be uploaded because the duo has reservations about the steamer due to the ongoing controversy. The statement reveals that the podcast crew discussed the situation and didn’t “feel right” to move forward with the episode.

Many fans have reacted positively to the news, stating that content creators facing consequences for their actions is important, even if the consequences haven’t yet come from official sources. Many continue to urge Twitch to take action against Hasan for the apparent animal abuse.

Others are questioning the verbiage of the statement, predicting that Pokimane and LilyPichu may still upload the episode once the controversy dies down.

Did Pokimane and Lilypichu cancel Hasan’s podcast episode?

After the announcement of Hasan’s podcast being shelved went viral, Pokimane tweeted that the episode should actually have been uploaded normally, but that podcast staff refused and released the resulting statement without her knowledge.

Pokimane stated in a tweet that the decision to not air Hasan’s podcase and to instead issue a statement was made without her approval. The streamer blamed her staff for overstepping and unilaterally deciding to not upload the video in fear of getting involved in more online drama. The content creator informed fans that she would reveal more in her next podcast and then go on a “hiatus to restructure.”

Viewer reaction to this new development has been swift and brutal, with the majority claiming that Pokimane is essentially throwing her staff under the bus.
