We checked out a full version of the demo ahead of release. Set on a 5-reel, 3-row grid with 17 fixed paylines, Great Game Rockies caps out at a maximum win of 5,000x your stake. Players can place a bet anywhere between $0.10 to $200.00 per spin, with feature buys permitted to exceed that upper limit.
At the surface, Great Game Rockies is similar to any other standard line-pay slot, but it gets quite interesting after a few sessions. The base game pays from left to right, starting on the leftmost reel, with symbol payouts split between low-value royals: J, Q, K, A, and high-value animal symbols.

The royal symbols are nice, but real money comes from the wild animal symbols. The Wild symbol, represented by red mushrooms, substitutes for all paying symbols and pays 50.00 for five of a kind.
What makes Great Game Rockies enjoyable to watch is its Hunting Season feature, which is also what sets it apart from other line-pay slots. Whenever a Hunting Season symbol lands on the grid, a Hunt is triggered after all regular wins are resolved. A target appears above each of the five reels, and five shots are fired sequentially from left to right. Each shot either hits or misses its target.
That gap between trigger and outcome is what makes it a slot worth watching on streams. This mechanic naturally creates clip-worthy slot moments, especially when a Trap symbol lands and starts collecting from a board full of high-value Coins.
Any Animal symbol that gets hit is transformed into either a Coin symbol or a Trap symbol, depending on its star rating.

On top of this, if a Wild lands on a reel that gets shot, it receives a multiplier of x2, x3, x4, x5, x10, or x20, multiplying between 1 and 5 Coin or Trap symbols.

Great Game Rockies’ bonus buy makes the game all the more interesting, and there’s four of those available. Two are Feature Spins, which simply means that they modify the existing features. The remaining two are where the real action happens.

Bonus Hunt and Wild Hunt are both feature spins, which means they don’t trigger a separate bonus game. Bonus Hunt Feature Spins costs 3x the base bet, and in exchange, makes each spin five times more likely to trigger one of the game’s bonus rounds. This is a great way for thrifty players to land the game’s high-paying Country Strong, Free Bird, or the Hidden Epic Bonus if they’re lucky enough.
Wild Hunt, comes in at 50x bet, and guarantees that one Hunting Season symbol lands on the grid, meaning a Hunt is triggered on every spin for the duration of the mode.
The other three bonus games can be triggered organically by landing FS scatter symbols on the grid. Country Strong can be activated by landing 3 symbols, or players can purchase it for 50x the base bet, and get 10 free spins with an increased chance of landing Hunting Season symbols.
At 200x base bet or landing 4 FS scatter symbols, Free Bird is an expensive one, but it’s rewarding. Players get 10 free spins where Animal symbols that appear in regular wins gain progressive Star upgrades, guaranteeing a higher minimum Coin type as the round progresses.
Finally, the game’s Hidden Epic Bonus isn’t available to buy, and players must pray for 5 FS Scatter symbols to activate the rare bonus game. In this game, 10 free spins are rewarded that retain the Free Bird mechanics, with a Hunting Season symbol guaranteed to land on every single spin.
