Gen.G vs T1 match analysis
Gen.G and T1 both had shaky starts to this season, but the teams bounced back. In particular, Gen.G came out of a devastating loss against G2 Esports during MSI, which was one of the biggest upsets of the tournament.
Fortunately, the team has found its footing, primarily thanks to Chovy’s insane carry potential in the mid-lane. Canyon also stands out as the player who has seemingly improved the most as the ongoing split has continued, with his jungle plays helping his team achieve multiple victories. Gen.G is slowly edging towared the same dominant performance it displayed last year, but has yet to recapture that same feel.

By contrast, T1 has looked solid overall, but the team doesn’t have the dominant energy expected from recent World Championship winners. The loss against Gen.G in this split was a terrible look for the team, and the sweep by KT Rolster didn’t do it any favors.
Still, T1 has looked much better recently, with Doran, Faker, and Keria showing the greatest growth.
Both teams are seemingly getting into form to compete for a chance to shine at MSI. Whether it’s because of Doran’s improved performance in the top lane or Chovy’s proven dominance in the middle lane, there’s a strong chance that both teams will win at least one game in the upcoming match. This means that taking the over on 2.5 maps could be a good idea, especially considering the decent potential return.
The game’s current season may have made matches quicker, but Gen.G’s midgame synergy remains unshaken. Despite T1 performing much better than it was at the start of the split, Gen.G has a better chance of walking away with the win in this match. The early game is where T1 will likely shine, making them the better pick for getting first bloods.

Gen.G vs T1 betting picks & predictions
T1 may have proven its strength at Worlds last year, but the team’s consistency just hasn’t been there. By contrast, Gen.G’s constant winning streaks and overwhelming position in the middle lane could give it what it needs to beat T1 and get closer to acquiring a nice advantage at Road to MSI.
Best picks
- Total maps to be over 2.5 @ 1.96: Both teams are slowly getting into their top forms, which suggests that this match could be a bit of a back-and-forth.
- T1 to get first blood @ 1.94: Gen.G has a bad habit of getting overconfident in the early game, which is something that an experienced team such as T1 can take advantage of for an early kill.
