Gen.G and KT Rolster are semifinalists in the 2025 LoL Worlds knockout stage, and the winner between the two LCK squads will determine which squad will soon have a shot at the World Championship trophy.

The knockout stage saw the first LCK team finally eliminated from Worlds when Gen.G beat Hanwha Life Esports. KT Rolster’s comfortable win against CFO also brought it to the semifinals, where the two LCK teams will now battle. The winner will proceed to the grand final, while the loser will bid this tournament farewell.

Gen.G may be looking extremely strong, but KT Rolster already caused an upset against Gen.G in the LCK to qualify for this tournament. Could it do so again here?

KT’s coin-toss performances makes it feel unreliable going into such a high-stakes match against what has absolutely been the best League of Legends team of this year. The good news for KT is that Bdd is a strong mid-laner who has successfully faced off against Chovy before, while Deokdam is fairly reliable as an ADC. But Ruler has similar carry potential for Gen.G, and has the added benefit of a more reliable support in Duro. Canyon has a gank-heavy playing style for Gen.G, while KT’s Cuzz tends to prioritize objectives.

There’s a good chance that the top laners will determine the course of the match. PerfecT has carried KT to success before, but Kiin is more consistent and should get the advantage over a five-game series.

This importance the team places on objectives may help KT get the first dragon, though bettors will likely be better off siding with Gen.G to get the first Atakhan and Baron, as the team often gets enough of a lead to steamroll past competitive team fights at that point.

Gen.G and KT are both strong teams, and while KT has defeated Gen.G once before, Gen.G’s incredible year simply can’t be ignored. KT’s newfound confidence and strength may help it to win two games and take the match to a fifth. But Gen.G’s consistency should ultimately give it the series win and land it a spot in the grand final.
