The gaming industry is growing rapidly in the United States, and a recent survey involving industry executives from across the betting and gambling space speaks to how that growth is only likely to continue moving forward.

According to a study published by the American Gaming Association, the third quarter of 2025 saw massive growth in gaming economic activity when measured by revenue, employment, and overall sentiment from and around the industry. There is confidence throughout the industry that gaming is growing despite any outside factors, showing itself to be an increasingly resilient space as more regions open up formally to gambling activity. Consumer spending is up, and the gaming industry looks poised to deliver even bigger come 2026.

The American Gaming Association’s study revealed an upward trend for the gaming industry as a whole. This was measured through a broad variety of means meant to encompass the overall state of the industry, including by gaming revenue, employment, employee wages and salaries, executive sentiment, and casino activity. This led to a significant increase in the third quarter of 2025 compared to the same numbers in 2024. Q1 and Q2 didn’t see nearly as much change between 2024 and 2025, but an excellent third quarter sticks out.

With more customer activity, revenue growth, and increased employment, gaming executives that took part in the study saw sentiments improve to 7.1% net positive, the first time those sentiments have turned positive since Q1 2024 – and the highest overall score since way back in 2022. With so much more positivity in the gathered responses, gaming executives made clear that they were less concerned with potential issues surrounding inflation and interest rates affecting gaming activity.

iGaming continues to grow worldwide, including in the US.

Those concerns were much louder earlier in 2025, but it seems that the betting and gambling spaces in the US are becoming resilient enough to ward off potential variance in gaming that could be brought on by such issues.

While some technologies are improving the gaming industry, like meaningful advances in cybersecurity and the AI for greater efficiency, there are still some concerns. Gaming executives noted the “uncertain regulation around iGaming,” as stats across the US continue to advance laws around gambling at different speeds and with different outcomes, which could potentially affect growth.

How streaming is impacting iGaming

Despite some push-back from select states in the country, iGaming is experiencing clear and obvious growth in 2025. The gaming industry is one that’s now worth well over a hundred billion dollars as it continues to expand thanks to increasing accessibility for potential players in iGaming as well as revitalized performance for some brick-and-mortal operators.

The gaming space in the US isn’t just seeing growth from new markets online and in-person casino success. Gambling has become a massive content focus for some of the most popular streamers on Twitch and Kick, as the best casino streamers spreading the popularity of slots to an ever-expanding crowd.

Viewers love watching these personalities test their luck for the potential of winning big, and they may even feel emboldened to try it out for themselves. As the betting and gambling subcategory of streaming has grown more and more popular, top video and streaming platforms have reacted to it differently. The best casino streaming platforms, such as Kick, embrace iGaming content. Others, such as Twitch, are more restrictive in their approach.

Either way, there’s no doubt that the increased visibility of betting and gambling online is contributing to the industry’s current health and future prospects, and streaming is playing an underrated role in that.
