GAM Esports vs Shopify Rebellion: Best Odds and Predictions for the Demacia Cup Global Invitational
In the third round of the Demacia Cup Global Invitational, the three teams with a record of 0-2 play a Round Robin among each other. Only the team winning both of their matches gets to advance to round four, so these are two back-to-back elimination series for the teams. GAM Esports will have already played one, while Shopify Rebellion is on their first. Here are our predictions for GAM vs SR.
GAM vs SR, fight for the bottom two
Depending on how FlyQuest shows up tomorrow, there’s a chance that these are the two weakest teams at the event. Then again, seeing how FLY played in the LCS playoffs, and that they did not improve at all since then, competition is fierce among the bottom three teams.
Neither GAM nor SR showed anything promising so far at the Demacia Cup. SR did get to face
stronger opponents
than GAM, but they also failed to seize the occasion when they had room to breathe.

Interestingly, GAM might have to play with a different objective than just winning. If they lose to FlyQuest, they need everyone to finish 1-1 and to have the tiebreaker. The tiebreaker rules have not been officially disclosed, but one can assume they’ll go by game score, followed by average win duration.

The bookmaker isn’t offering odds for this tournament, or it has already ended.
Odds are provided by third parties for informational purposes only and are subject to fluctuation.
This means that
if FLY beats GAM, they’ll face SR while needing to finish 2-0 and to win their games quickly.
Having those conditions will make them play worse, but they’ll also skew the
LoL betting markets.
Needing a 2-0 increases the chances of the series being over in two games for whichever team. At the same time, aiming for fast wins implies more early kills, but fewer kills overall if they succeed.

Here are some of the best odds to pick for GAM vs SR:
- Take SR to win at 1.5 odds at
GG.Bet.
- Pick the series to finish under 2.5 games at 1.76 odds.
- Take the first map to end under 30.5 minutes. This also works just as well for map two.
☑️ My Take
I think that the context will help Shopify Rebellion. During the LCS playoffs, they’ve shown that if there’s one thing they’ve got, it’s their resilience. Something that I feel GAM lacks.
If FlyQuest loses to GAM, that changes the equation and they suddenly have better odds. Otherwise, I don’t believe that they have what it takes to get a win afterwards. Additionally, they demonstrated very approximative macro against Team Vitality (as did their opponents). If they also have to play quickly, Shopify will be able to catch their mistakes.
SR lacks proactivity, and the plays they attempted weren’t picked well enough either. I expect GAM to dictate the pace of the series, but I also believe that SR will manage to withstand it. Even though it is worrying that JD Gaming stomped them 2-0 with two last-minute substitutes.
