While both teams have done well to make it to this LEC split’s grand final, only one team can be crowned the victor. With a direct ticket to the EWC on the line, there’s a strong chance that G2’s dominating performance in this split could give it a slight advantage, even though KC’s recent improvement is clear.

G2 Esports vs Karmine Corp match overview

Betting tip: Both LEC teams have shown high skill recently, suggesting that the match may go the distance.

Our G2 Esports vs Karmine Corp pick: Total maps to be over 4.5 @ 2.78.

G2 Esports vs Karmine Corp match analysis

It’s no surprise that G2 Esports are considered the strongest European team currently. With powerhouses like Caps in the mid-lane and Hans Sama as the team’s ADC, G2 has gone undefeated in this split so far. However, G2’s largest weakness is its fairly small champion pool, which shows its face in best-of-five matches such as this one.

By contrast, Karmine Corp hasn’t had to go the distance in this split yet. The team’s quick decision-making and excellent early-game mechanics have won it most games, while the last match between KC and G2 didn’t go above four games. It’s a coin toss between both teams, since KC usually plays for the bottom lane to ensure Caliste can scale well, while G2 plays for the middle lane, opting to rely on Hans Sama and Labrov to hold their own.

Still, between KC’s usual early game dominance and the team’s jungler, Yike’s constant ganks in the bottom lane, there’s a strong chance that KC could get an early kill in this match. That makes KC the better first blood pick. This is also likely where KC’s lead will start to drop, since G2 usually destroys the first turret.

Both teams have shown excellent skill, though G2 has a tendency to fold under pressure. The team’s recent performance against MKOI left much to be desired, which could help Karmine Corp take this match the distance. Because of this, taking the over on 4.5 games being played may be a good idea, especially considering the fairly high potential return.

With this being said, G2 are still a dominant force in the LEC. Karmine Corp didn’t manage to take the team down at the start of the playoffs, and it wouldn’t be surprising if the same repeats here. While KC will hopefully improve its strategizing in time for MSI, there’s a good chance it’ll walk away from this split with the number 2 spot.

Betting picks and predictions

Karmine Corp has done well to make it this far, but the team has some fundamental flaws that haven’t been tackled. Whether it’s the inability to end games even with a huge advantage or the tendency to take unnecessary team fights, a strong team such as G2 Esports will likely capitalize on any opportunity to win this grand final match.
