G2 Esports vs Dplus KIA: LoL Worlds Predictions and Best Odds

It’s the start of the LoL Worlds Swiss Stage! On the first day, G2 Esports goes up against Dplus KIA. This year, the LEC champions have gone on a rampage against Korea, but DK has had a spark of brilliance since the Esports World Cup. Here are our G2 vs DK predictions for the LoL Worlds Swiss Stage.
The Korean kingslayers of 2026
This year, G2 has so far gone 3-1 in series against LCK opponents, or 9-4 in games. The LEC champions beat the undefeated Gen.G and took down T1, and they keep playing without fear. It’s like this is their way of telling the world that as long as you don’t give LCK teams respect, they lose half of their power.
Now, let’s not forget that G2 already faced Dplus KIA this year, at the Esports World Cup. That best-of-three ended 2-0 in DK’s favor. Surprising at the time, this result made more sense retroactively as Dplus KIA went on to beat the Chinese and Korean favorites to win the EWC.
Dplus KIA plays with a slightly more cautious approach than Hanwha Life Esports or T1. At the time, this did wonders for them against G2. The LEC champions kept trying for picks that turned against them, while losing to mechanical outplays in return.
Now, it’s worth noting that LoL Worlds is a completely different meta. Mages have left the bot lane aside from Ziggs, and roaming supports are mostly gone as well. This doubly favors G2, as DK’s creativity allows them to shine with more picks and strategies available, and Steven “Hans Sama” Liv never looked too comfortable on mages.

Here are some of the best LoL bets for G2 vs DK.
- Take the map duration to go under 33.5 minutes, at 1.61 odds at GG.Bet. Under 32.5 works as well if you’re feeling bold (at 1.83 odds), the former being the safer pick.
- Pick total kills under 26.5 at 1.9 odds.
- Take DK to win at 1.71 odds. Of the three, this is the least certain bet to pick.

☑️ My Thoughts
I have a hard time calling this one. Looking at G2’s form over the entire year, they have their chances, more so than in previous years. G2 knows what they’re doing, and they’re sticking to their game plan. More often than not, this has stunned Korea more than they have.
However, the first problem is that those teams haven’t played in a month. During that month, the meta has evolved, but mostly, so have the teams’ forms. All competitors can show a completely different face from one day to the next. As such, a team can completely collapse or improve between the end of the split and the start of LoL Worlds 2026.
To make matters worse, this is a best-of-one. With all on the line for a single map, with a different drafting strategy without Fearless, few things are less predictable than that.
This makes me think that it’s much safer to bet on other factors than the game winner. My guts predict G2 to win, though. However, game duration and total kills should be safe bets.
