Complexity Gaming is on something of a run right now, but can anyone confidently bet on them taking down a top-10 team like G2 Esports in PGL Bucharest?
While Complexity Gaming was a bit of an afterthought at PGL Bucharest, the team has provided some of the biggest surprises of the event. It stunned fans by running over Team Falcons, and got another upset win over Furia Esports.
This has Complexity on the cusp of qualifying for the PGL Bucharest playoffs. But to get a 3-0 record, it will need to beat G2 Esports. Is there any chance of that happening?
FURIA vs Complexity – HIGHLIGHTS – PGL Bucharest 2025 | CS2
G2 Esports and Complexity Gaming will face off in a best-of-three match in round three of PGL Bucharest’s group stage on April 8, 2025. The winner of this match will advance to the tournament’s playoffs. The loser will continue on in the group stage and can advance to the playoffs with another win.
G2 Esports was one of the favorites to win PGL Bucharest due to the team’s generally strong body of work in 2025. Despite losing star player Niko “NiKo” Kovac, the squad has posted solid placements in BLAST Open Spring, ESL Pro League Season 21, and BLAST Bounty Spring. It has lived up to those expectations so far by beating GamerLegion and Rare Atom.
The G2 Esports roster at PGL Bucharest is the one it’s had throughout 2025, but this may be this lineup’s final chapter:
G2 Esports has been at its best on Dust 2 and Inferno, where it has 7-2 and 8-3 records, respectively. The team has been hovering around 50% on all the other maps. The exception is Train, which G2 hasn’t played on yet.
Complexity Gaming has been the biggest surprise of PGL Bucharest thus far. The team picked up a massive upset win over Falcons in the first round of the group stage and did it again against Furia. Now the team is on the verge of qualifying for the playoffs.
Complexity Gaming’s 2025 roster will continue its push in this matchup:
Complexity Gaming’s current roster has been very good on Nuke, Anubis, and Train. Complexity has been trying to drag opponents onto Train, and has gone 7-2 with that approach. It’s also particularly strong on Anubis, with a 7-1 record. That said, the team is 1-4 on Dust 2 to this point in the year.
Complexity Gaming and G2 Esports haven’t played since 2023 at IEM Sydney, one of the first events held in Counter-Strike 2. They played twice there, with each team getting one 2-0 victory. Both teams have shaken up their rosters since then however, and the map pool has also been changed.
G2 vs Rare Atom – HIGHLIGHTS – PGL Bucharest 2025 | CS2
G2 is a big favorite to beat Complexity gaming in PGL Bucharest’s group stage. The moneylines stand at 1.33 against 3.25. Bookies have done a quick turnaround on Complexity, as the team was more than a 5.0 underdog against Team Falcons in the first round of the group stage.
G2 Esports should be able to take the win over Complexity Gaming. Complexity beating Furia isn’t a great shock and while Complexity’s win over Falcons was, Falcons losing to Apogee Esports in round two suggests that Falcons is on a skid more than Complexity is on an upswing. Until Complexity has a bigger body of work, bettors shouldn’t be wagering on them to beat top-10 teams.
