G2 Esports and Complexity Gaming are set for a PGL Bucharest rematch, but have things materially changed for either from a betting perspective?
PGL Bucharest’s semifinalists have all had a wild story at the event, except for G2 Esports. The team was expected to succeed at the event, and it has. Simple as that. On the flipside, Complexity has been the betting underdog for every match it has played in Bucharest but has somehow made its way to the semifinals at the event.
So how do these teams match up in the playoffs? And how did their first match at the tournament go? Here’s a full betting breakdown of this match.
QUARTER-FINALS! G2 vs Virtus.pro – HIGHLIGHTS – PGL Bucharest 2025 | CS2
G2 Esports and Complexity Gaming will go head-to-head in the semifinals of PGL Bucharest’s playoffs on April 12, 2025. This is the second time that the two teams will compete against each other in this tournament. The winner will advance to the grand finals, while the loser will face the loser of Team Falcons vs FaZe Clan in a third-place decider match.
G2 Esports’ success in PGL Bucharest is one of the few things at the tournament that has gone to plan. The team was pegged as one of the favorites to win according to bookmakers and looked the part in the group stage. It started the event with a competitive win over Team GamerLegion, stomped Rare Atom, and got a narrow victory over Complexity Gaming to post a 3-0 record.
The G2 roster is reportedly set to undergo some major changes in the coming days or weeks, but it will be bringing these five players for the remainder of PGL Bucharest:
G2 has been very active on Dust 2, Inferno, and Ancient. That’s for good reason as it’s 9-2 on Dust 2 and 8-3 on Inferno in 2025. It’s not bad on Ancient either, with a 6-5 record. G2 has losing record on Nuke and Anubis, though. It has also been instantly banning Train, which is a key strength for Complexity.
Complexity Gaming started off PGL Bucharest by shocking fans with a 2-0 victory over Team Falcons. A victory over Furia Esports then had Complexity on the cusp of a shocking perfect run in the group stage. G2 Esports forced NA fans to pump the brakes on the team, but Complexity forced its way into the playoffs with a strong 2-0 win over FaZe Clan.
This put Complexity into the unenviable position of facing the new favorite to win the tournament; Aurora Gaming. Despite being a big betting underdog, the Complexity Gaming roster took a tough 2-1 victory over Aurora to head to the semifinals
Complexity Gaming’s success in PGL Bucharest boils down to its strength on Nuke, Anubis, and Train. Anubis and Train have been Complexity’s go-to maps in 2025, and it has 9-2 and 8-2 records there, respectively. The team has just four games on Nuke so far, but all have been wins.
It actually has a losing record on every other map, including a worrying 2-5 record on Dust 2. Outside of all this, Complexity actively bans Mirage.
G2 Esports and Complexity have faced off just once since 2023. That match came on April 8, where G2 took a 2-1 victory over Complexity. It was a very competitive match, with G2 taking a 16-12 win on Dust 2 and a 13-10 win on Ancient, while Complexity won 13-10 on Anubis.
QUARTER-FINALS! Complexity vs Aurora – HIGHLIGHTS – PGL Bucharest 2025 | CS2
G2 Esports is a 1.43 betting favorite against Complexity Gaming for their PGL Bucharest playoffs match. Betting sites are showing Complexity a bit more respect, as the group stage version of this match had a 1.33 vs 3.25 line. Still, they’re feeling quite confident that G2 will win.
G2 Esports should be able to defeat Complexity Gaming and head to the PGL Bucharest finals. Complexity has silenced doubters in this event and shown that it can beat some of the best teams in the world. Still, its reliance on a couple of maps makes it hard to pick them against a well-rounded team like G2 Esports.
