G2 Esports ended 2025 as the most reliable team in the LEC, but that changed with this split’s regular season. Many fans and analysts alike put forward that the team’s lack of proper performance was perhaps related to the best-of-one format, and the two matches G2 has played in the playoffs have thus far proven that to be true. The team went 2-0 against both Team Heretics and Karmine Corp, establishing itself as one of the favorites to win in the playoffs yet again.

Similarly, MKOI bounced back in the playoffs by winning 2-0 against Vitality and NAVI, two teams that had been performing well to date. MKOI has multiple powerhouse players, but Elyoya’s jungling and Myrwyn’s top lane carry potential stand out. The two players have excellent synergy, but that sometimes leaves the team’s bottom lane to fend for itself, which could pose a threat against G2.

That said, MKOI is one of the most passive teams early on in games in the LEC, and G2 should comfortably be able to get the first blood.

G2’s bottom lane is extremely strong, with Hans Sama and Labrov consistently carrying their team to victory. BrokenBlade’s performance in the top lane may be a coin toss, but between Caps in the mid lane and Skewmond in the jungle, G2 should be able to comfortably cover most lanes in the match, ultimately leading the team to victory. Both MKOI and G2’s odds of winning are close, so sticking with the safer pick in G2 as match winner seems seems the better option.

This isn’t to say that the match will be easy. MKOI has seen much improvement since last year, and the team is now more tactically inclined than before. With both teams having strong players and gameplans, it wouldn’t be surprising if the match went to a fifth game before G2 finally achieves victory.

This would also make taking the over on 4.5 maps played a good pick, especially considering the high return potential associated with it.
