G2 has established itself as one of the strongest teams in the LEC for some time now, consistently qualifying for, and performing well in, international tournaments including those played just last year. As this new season’s first split kicks off with 2026 LEC Versus, G2 is slated to face a consistently improving team in GIANTX. But does GIANTX have what it takes to cause an upset here?

G2 Esports vs GIANTX match overview

Betting tip: G2’s consistency and greater skill ceiling relative to GIANTX suggest that G2 may achieve a quick victory.

Our G2 Esports vs GIANTX pick: Total match time to be under 29.5 minutes @ 1.73.

G2 Esports vs GIANTX match analysis

It wouldn’t be a stretch to say that G2’s middle and bottom lanes are the strongest in the 2026 LEC season. Hans Sama and Labrov are reliable enough as G2’s respective ADC and support players to help their team get a properly scaled carry in the mid-to-late game, while Caps can contest against most any middle laner.

When it comes to GIANTX, Lot and ISMA are reliable in the top and jungler roles, respectively, but the rest of the team often struggles when at a disadvantage. And a disadvantage is exactly what G2 hopes to put them at early in this meeting.

G2’s BrokenBlade is the most inconsistent player on the team, and could potentially give GIANTX an early kill in the top lane. Because of this, siding with GIANTX to get first blood could be a good idea, especially since the pick has some potential for a decent return based on the odds.

Unfortunately for GIANTX, that’s likely as far as expectations can go for the side here.

GIANX’s Jun is an excellent support player, but his ADC leaves much to be desired. Meanwhile, Caps has extremely good synergy with his jungler SkewMond, letting him roam after getting a decent advantage. Since this will likely help the team secure objectives faster, there’s a good chance that G2 will obtain the first baron of the game before taking the enemy nexus.

While GIANTX has been slowly improving, its players haven’t showcased the skill needed to win consistently against G2, suggesting that the match may end fairly quickly. Taking the under on 29.5 minutes could be a good idea, and the odds play into such a pick.

G2 Esports vs GIANTX betting picks & predictions

GIANTX does have some advantages against G2, namely a more reliable top laner and support player. But with the skill disparity shown between the two teams last year, there’s a decent chance that G2 will comfortably breeze past GIANTX and open with an advantage in the 2026 LEC Versus split.
