Fortnite x Obsession collab could be in the works as teaser drops

Nowadays, anything popular ends up getting a Fortnite crossover. Even if it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. There’s an American Dad crossover, a Game of Thrones collaboration, and so much more that at one point would’ve been totally shocking to a gamer.

That includes popular movies. Even before it truly hit theaters and took off, there were skins for The Odyssey in the Item Shop. Similarly, another 2026 smash hit movie could be getting a collaboration after a recent tease from Fortnite, but it makes even less sense.

Fortnite teases collaboration with horror movie Obsession

Fortnite may have leaned a bit to the adult side of gaming with the recent Hot Bat Summer skins, but it’s still a game that is centered on a younger audience. Occasionally, though, some crossovers feel a bit much for a T-rated game.

Obsession would be one such collaboration. It’s a genuine horror movie that had to be trimmed a little to avoid an NC-17 rating. But after a recent tease, it seems almost like a foregone conclusion that Fortnite x Obsession is happening.

The official Fortnite account posted a remade teaser trailer for the movie featuring a Sprite from the game instead of one of the two main characters. It’s clever marketing, but it is very interesting for a number of reasons.

As of now, there are no leaks for a crossover, though noted leaker ShiinaBR immediately posted about the likelihood of an Obsession collaboration for Fortnitemares this Halloween.

Of course, capitalizing on a hit movie to further market the game makes a ton of sense, but they missed the window for that. Yes, Obsession just hit streaming, but the heyday to market Fortnite in conjunction was when it was raking it in at the box office. It’s late now.

That suggests that a collaboration is on the way, which feels strange. Of course, Fortnite has crossovers with all manner of things, but an indie horror movie without iconic characters that might transcend pop culture feels unexpected, to say the least.

Who will prevail?: BLAST SLAM VIII Playoffs preview, predictions, and more Michael Hassall After a week of intense Group Stage, Last Chance and Seeding stage matches, and a few days of rest, BLAST SLAM VIII returns tomorrow (Oct. 8) with the Playoffs. If we’re honest, there haven’t been too many surprises. We’d liked to have seen a BetBoom or Team Liquid make the cut, but ultimately these aren’t the teams of earlier in the year, and with new rosters comes new uncertainty. That's ...

Dota 2’s new Tidehunter Arcana is mind-blowing, but prepare to spend $200+ to get it Michael Hassall Night owls in North America and early risers in Europe woke up to a brand new Dota 2 Arcana, the first new release of Dota’s rarest and most-coveted cosmetics since 2024. The recipient? Tidehunter, whose Maw of the Megladon Arcana transforms the already selachian sea-dweller into a full-blown shark. But while Arcana’s have traditionally been part of big events in Dota 2, either the now-discontinued Battle Passes, or most recently, ...
