Fortnite is introducing Sonic

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 is on the way! Season 3 is climaxing soon, and it will give way to a fresh season with new characters, items, storyline, and plenty more. Because the new season is so close, leaks are coming thick and fast. Some are even being confirmed outright before the season arrives. Here is exactly what you need to know.

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 collabs

It has long been known that Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 is going to be the ultimate crossover season, featuring a ton of Gaming Legends crossovers. It was previously leaked that there would be up to 30 different collaborations during the season.

Now, we have a good idea of what collabs that includes. According to ShiinaBR on X, several have been confirmed:

Some of these will require some creativity from Epic Games. Pac-Man is small and not at all fit to be a Fortnite skin, and a mech may be used, or it won’t be a skin at all. The same is true for Tetris, since those are just different-shaped blocks. Regardless, the above games will join God of War, Tomb Raider, Metal Gear Solid, Among Us, and others in the Gaming Legends series.

More leaks

Leakers have since come to reveal more collaborations. Additionally, Epic Games has confirmed some of them. Pac-Man showed up in a trailer for Season 4. Sonic and Tetris both got official Fortnite trailers, so they are 100% guaranteed. The same is true of 99 Nights in the Forest, initially thought to be a Minecraft or Five Nights at Freddy’s collaboration.

Kingdom Hearts 4 was revealed by a leak, and it is expected to be confirmed by Epic Games on August 15. Mega Man remains a leak, as does Persona 5. However, Persona is expected to be confirmed since a reliable source has revealed it. The rumored Minecraft collaboration feels unlikely, especially after the confusion over 99 Nights in the Forest. Five Nights at Freddy’s has been rumored for years, but it seems almost assuredly not to be happening.

Leaker Spush and Samleakss confirmed the Crash Bandicoot collaboration, but Epic hasn’t revealed that one. So, Sonic, Tetris, 99 Nights in the Forest, and Pac-Man are 100% confirmed as of now. Kingdom Hearts 4 is extremely likely, as is Persona 5. Everything else is tentative as of now.

Release date

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 has been running for several weeks now. It will end on August 19, and it is expected that Season 4 will then follow soon after, but there will be downtime — there always is, to varying lengths. According to new information, that downtime will last until August 20, when the new season will launch.

Live event

There was a large live event to transition from Chapter 7 Season 2 into Season 3. As of now, it is unclear whether or not there will be a full live event going into Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4. However, since the season is just a few weeks away and there have been no leaks, it is unlikely.

There may be a smaller mini-event at some point to introduce some of the characters, though. Leaks indicate that posters popping up in Fortnite are related to the upcoming crossover skins, such as Dr. Eggman. All will be revealed in the coming weeks when Fortnite players have the chance to experience a brand new chapter.
