Forkast’s CEO says Agents will be the next revolution in trading as the company launches ATLAS

Chris Gonsalves, the CEO of prediction market Forkast, says the future of retail trading will be in the hands of AI agents, rather than individual traders and brokers. The bold prediction comes as Forkast launches ATLAS, a new trading layer for their prediction market designed specifically for agents to interact with.

The goal of ATLAS is to synchronize a retail trader’s full portfolio and for an AI agent to handle the actual leg work of trading on sites like Forkast and Polymarket, while the user instead acts as an organizer, manager, and overseer.

AI agents could level the playing field for retail traders

AI agent adoption in the trading space isn’t some new horizon. It’s already happening. Fourteen of the top 20 most profitable traders on Polymarket are bots, according to Gonsalves, and CNBC is suggesting that AI agents could allow trading round the clock and across the globe.

The market leaders in retail trading have already streamlined their interfaces for AI agent access with clear examples being Coinbase’s x402 protocol and Robinhood allowing AI to make accounts.

And what’s exciting is the potential for these kinds of advancements to allow solo traders to compete with big firms and quants funds (who are already using AI agents for their portfolios), thanks to the speed and uptime AI can afford. Day trading already killed the myth of needing a $30k Bloomberg terminal to trade. Now AI can allow the everyman to compete with the big dogs.

Where the day trader was stuck looking at graphs and clicking tabs to make predictive trades, the agent activated user is the orchestrator. The conductor.

All that’s needed is the layer which AI agents can operate on. And that’s where Forkast’s ATLAS apparently comes in. Gonsalves explained how in a recent LinkedIn post:

“ATLAS is the trading layer, built for AI agents. It’s live today on Forkast, and it’s expanding to every place retail traders hold risk. Under the hood, it isn’t just a chatbot bolted onto a trading bot. It’s a full agent harness. It remembers what happened in your past trades, it decides which tools (e.g. Google search) or venue makes sense for the task it was given, and runs its own model-agnostic execution layer. That combo is what lets it get smarter over time, instead of running the same strategy on repeat.”

On Wednesday ATLAS went live, initially focusing on Forkast, allowing AI agents to join the prediction market and trade on predictive positions. The big picture though, is far beyond just Forkast, or prediction markets.

The idea is that you’ll have one (or multiple) agents, operating on a layer above the markets, whether that be Forkast, Polymarket, crypto markets like Coinbase, or even beyond this into mainstream markets as well. As Gonslaves outlines, it makes sense to start with prediction markets, and then expand to everything else:

“Prediction markets are the wedge because they’re the perfect playground for event driven agents. But the real goal is bigger: one agent, every trading app.”

The end goal is pretty simple: You’ll have a suite of agents able to trade like a floor of brokers. And you’ll be doing this from a single console, in your own home or office. It sounds like a heady dream, but it’s exactly where many believe the trading space is headed.
