Forkast launches TVT League to combine esports and trading

Trading isn’t esports, but it should be – That’s the message as Forkast unveils their upcoming trader versus trader that will pit users of its exchange against each other in a competition to see who can find the most yield over the period of two weeks.

Announced via Forkast’s socials and LinkedIn, the TVT League will span two weeks and will measure both trading volume and performance to determine the best traders on the platform.

Forkast launches competitive Trader vs. Trader league merging esports and trading

The TVT League, Powered by Ethereum arbitrage Arbitrum, the TVT League will feature a $3,500 prize pool in USD-backed digital currency divided among the winning traders.

Signups for the league launched on Monday (May 18) and will close on May 25. Then from May 26 until June 9 the competition will run to discover the best trader on the platform. Results will be published on June 16.

What’s more, the top traders will be ranked on a leaderboard. As Forkast puts it “The best traders have always been anonymous. Season 1 changes that. See you on the ladder.”

Forkast’s CEO, Chris Gonsalves reacted to the reveal of the TVT league with his own comments:

“Trading has always been an esport. We just haven’t treated it like one. Today Forkast is launching TVT League, a ranked prediction market competition that shows who actually trades better over two weeks. Every market counts: esports, 5‑min BTC, everything in between on Forkast.”

While trading and prediction markets have always had a competitive element (after all, you’re trying to win), this is the first time a marketplace has been gamified officially to have a leaderboard.

As a result, the TVT League represents an intersection between trading and esports. Esports teams and leagues have already been on the cutting edge of the prediction market space, with landmark deals made between the likes of PGL and ESL, with Kalshi and Polymarket both penning deals.

Similarly, earlier in the year Forkast partnered with grid.gg to deliver esports prediction markets, ahead of the curve of its rivals.

Clearly Forkast has decided esports integration is the way forwards, as it opts to incorporate the competitive pastime into trading directly with the TVT League. For more info or to sign up, head to Forkast.gg.
