Follow these simple steps to start streaming on Kick

Kick is a leading streaming platform new content creators are joining it every day, following the example set by veteran streamers switching from rival platforms. Here’s a simple list of steps you can follow to stream on Kick to start or expand your streaming career.
Kick has soared in popularity since its inception in 2022 and is now home to various popular content creators. The platform started offering a higher percentage of profit to streamers, and it’s worked out well. Adin Ross, Felix “xQc” Lengyel, and Kaitlyn “Amouranth” Siragusa are some of the most notable and viral stars on the popular streaming platform.
That’s not to say they’re the only popular content creators using Kick as their chosen platform, as many new and less-experienced streamers join the platform every day. Kick has a certain process you need to follow to stream, but it’s straightforward, and even new streamers can start broadcasting their content in no time.
How to live stream on Kick
Content creators can use both desktop and mobile devices to stream live on Kick, but they must download and set up third-party software before they can go live on the platform.
Kick knows that streamers don’t always have access to desktops or that they might sometimes be doing IRL streams in public, so the platform has made it possible for content creators to stream using mobile devices just as easily as desktop PCs. The only caveat is that to be able to stream, content creators need to use applications like the popular Streamlabs.
Kick supports other applications that streamers can use according to preference, and listed below are the steps for the two major live streaming applications.
How to stream on Kick with OBS
Open Broadcaster Software, or more simply OBS, is one of the most-used software for livestreaming, and it’s especially popular in the vtuber industry. The software is free and open-source, offers extensive customization, and is compatible with multiple vtuber tracking softwares. This makes it one of the best choices for virtual streamers, but it’s also a popular choice among more conventional streamers.
Here’s how to use OBS to live stream after downloading the software:
- Launch OBS
- Navigate to stream setting
- Input the Server URL and stream key from the Kick Creator Dashboard

After following the steps, OBS can be used to live stream on Kick, but streamers may need to manually scale their output if they’re using screen resolutions higher than 1920 x 1080.
How to stream on Kick with Streamlabs Desktop
Streamlabs Desktop is another free and open-source streaming software used by many content creators. The application has an easy-to-navigate interface, which is especially preferred by new streamers. Another advantage of Streamlabs over some other software is that streamers can link it with their Kick account.
The steps for setting up Streamlabs Desktop are straightforward:
- Launch Streamlabs Desktop
- Navigate to settings
- Connect the Kick account to Streamlabs Desktop

After following the aforementioned steps, streamers can easily go live on Kick using Streamlabs Desktop. The application has one other slight limitation, as streamers need to manually set stream titles from Kick after going live.

Content creators can use various streaming apps on their mobile devices to stream on Kick. One of the most popular applications available on both Android and iOS is Streamlabs: Live Streaming. It’s easy to set up, and streamers can go live instantly once they’re ready with the app.
