FaZe Clan is hanging on by a thread in the StarLadder Budapest Major, and CS2 bettors will have to weigh their chances against Passion UA in the final round of groups.

Passion UA has arguably established itself as North America’s top Counter-Strike 2 team at this point. Hard-fought, five-match runs in the second and third group stages included wins over regional rivals Team Liquid and M80. The big question now is if it can take a big win over an entrenched top team in FaZe Clan. Should you bet on them pulling it off, though?

FaZe Clan has had an awkward 2025, either thanks to or demonstrated by its perplexing and fairly regular roster moves.

The organization has a history of shuffling together superstars from around the globe to underwhelming results. That was seen with serviceable, but only serviceable, runs by Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski and Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev. Though FaZe made an out-of-character decision to bring in a hot upstart in Jakub “jcobbb” Pietruszewski, it returned to form by bringing back Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken.

jcobbb and Twistzz haven’t yet proven themselves to be transformative figures for the team, but FaZe hasn’t looked much worse off either. That still leaves the team as a fringe top-10 contender, which is shown by how it has largely handed its losses to high-end competition.

Passion UA has been able to get some good wins in the Budapest Major and hit some high notes when its roster was sponsored by Complexity. Still, it hasn’t shown enough to get the nod in a best-of-three against this caliber of competition.
