Prominent streamer Nick “FaZe Lacy” Fosco has announced that he is retiring from streaming because he wants to focus on other avenues and make a drastic career change, leaving fans to wonder what’s next for him and if the announcement is in fact legitimate.

FaZe Lacy is one of the younger content creators associated with FaZe Clan, best known for his Just Chatting and IRL streams. The streamer primarily streams on Twitch and boasts over one million followers on the livestreaming platform. Lacy has been a part of his fair share of controversies throughout his career and has also been kicked from the FaZe Clan in the past, only to rejoin the organization later. This may now change, as FaZe Lacy has announced his apparent intention to shift from streaming and claimed that he will be retiring from content creation completely.

Why did FaZe Lacy say he’s retiring from streaming?

FaZe Lacy has claimed that he is officially retiring from streaming to pursue his new dream of becoming a professional model and actor.

Lacy posted a video through which he informed fans that he had decided to stop streaming because he “was getting offers to do things he never thought he’d do.” The streamer gave an example of modeling being on the table as he said that a swimsuit company wants him to “walk down a runway in a Speedo.” He further claimed that he was offered a movie opportunity with the famous Hollywood actor-comedian Kevin Hart, with whom he has appeared on stream in the past.

Lacy expressed that streaming was a large part of his life, and he offered his appreciation for his fans and their support over the years. But the streamer stated that “it’s time to say goodbye” and that fans may not hear from him for “a while.” He went on to say that he doesn’t know whether he’ll return, and if he does, when that might be.

Lacy also blacked out his social media accounts, further cementing his goodbye’s apparent finality. It’s worth noting that Lacy has previously stated in July that he would take a break from streaming to appear on the show Love Island. At the time, the streamer had expressed his intention to return, but this latest announcement has shocked his fans.

Reaction to the announcement has been divided, with some supporting the streamer for trying to grow and transition into mainstream entertainment, which could potentially be a big step up in his career. Others are speculating that Lacy may just be trolling and that he isn’t actually retiring from streaming at all. With the FaZe Clan subathon just around the corner, Lacy may just be taking a break while gearing up for a big surprise during the event.
