The 2025 StarLadder Budapest Major is finally entering its Stage 1 elimination round, through which only three teams will secure a place in Stage 2. The Fluxo vs FaZe match-up is sure to draw eyes, and interested bettors will want the best odds and picks for this anticipated series before placing anything on the line.

Stage 1 of the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 featured 16 teams competing in a five-round Swiss system to qualify for stage 2. Of those 16, only eleven remain, with five already guaranteed spots after clean 3–0 runs. The remaining six teams now have to fight for the last three positions, and Fluxo will be pushing hard as it prepares to face FaZe, a top-15 ranked team in the world. The match is widely expected to be one-sided, but Fluxo’s recent form compared to that of FaZe introduces just enough uncertainty to keep the outcome from feeling entirely predictable.

Our analysis should help bettors understand whether Fluxo has a realistic chance in this elimination game or if the odds lean too heavily toward FaZe.

Match overview

Betting tip: Round 5 will see FaZe enter the elimination match from the 1–2 bracket, while Fluxo arrives from 2–1 bracket after its loss to Ninjas in Pyjamas. On paper, both teams have a reasonable chance at taking this match-up, but bettors should look at their recent performances before locking anything in. Fluxo’s form has been solid, but the team is stepping up here against some of the biggest names in CS2. At the same time, FaZe’s subpar results lately may give Fluxo enough confidence to believe the underdog team has a real shot at pulling off the upset.

FaZe is expected to sweep the Brazilian lineup without much trouble and secure its place in stage 2, but it may not be that easy.

Our FaZe vs Fluxo pick: Total maps to be over 2.5 @ 2.40 odds.

FaZe vs Fluxo match analysis

Fluxo has surprised everyone with its strong showing in the early rounds of stage 1, taking down Gamer Legion and then Fnatic. The team remained undefeated until FlyQuest beat it to finish its own 3–0 run, but it’s fair to say Fluxo’s opponents have been anything but easy. After losing to NiP, Fluxo now finds itself in an elimination match against FaZe, a team that still sits high in most credible rankings despite a noticeable decline in recent form.

While Fluxo may not be the outright favorite as per our event betting guide, the team benefits from the leadership of Andrei “arT” Piovezan, who was behind many of FURIA’s major victories between 2020 and 2022. arT brings the same calling style that helped FURIA secure wins at the PGL Major Antwerp 2022: American RMR, ESL Pro League Season 12: North America, and multiple other events.

Even while handling IGL duties, arT has contributed heavily to Fluxo’s firepower, posting a 1.67 rating against Fnatic in the early rounds of the 2025 StarLadder Budapest Major. With support from the team’s main fraggers Lucas “decenty” Bacela and Lucas “Lucaozy” Neves, Fluxo cannot be dismissed as a real threat in this series.

But FaZe may edge past it simply because the roster handles high-pressure elimination games far more easily, with plenty of experience to call upon. With seasoned names like Finn “karrigan” Andersen and David “frozen” Čerňanský, FaZe may finally unlock the stability that helped it hold its place near the top of the global rankings.

It’s worth noting that FaZe has struggled against lesser teams thus far, even dropping a map to Red Canids in round 4, which likely stemmed from Helvijs “broky” Saukants failing to show up in recent matches. FaZe will need broky to break out of his sub-1.00 form. If he does, Fluxo could collapse.

FaZe vs Fluxo picks and predictions

FaZe vs Fluxo is expected to be a one-sided series with FaZe finally breaking out of its slump to close the stage in a clean 2–0 sweep. While it couldn’t manage the same result against Red Canids, this elimination setting may be exactly where FaZe shows the steadier form needed to handle higher-tier teams waiting for it in stage 2.

Bookmakers back FaZe by a wide margin, making it the safer pick for this stage 2 round 4 match-up. But bettors could look for the series to reach three games for a value bet, given FaZe’s shaky performance and Fluxo’s solid start in Budapest.
