While there’s still a definitive hierarchy in Counter-Strike esports, 2025 is shaping up to have a level of parity fans haven’t seen in some time. Team Spirit is generally agreed upon as the best in the world, but they’re far from unbeatable. Unlike Team Liquid in 2019 or Astralis’ dynasty years. Team Spirit loses. And it does so enough that it might be an early washout from BLAST Open Spring 2025.

On March 23, 2025, FaZe Clan and Team Spirit will play an elimination match in the BLAST Open Spring 2025 group stage. The match is a best-of-three. The winner will advance in the lower bracket of the group, and will need to win one more match to earn a playoff spot.
