Multiple Mythic Talent content creators, notably including Emily “ExtraEmily” Zhang and Tim “EsfandTV” Esfandiari, have been listed on the Million Dollar Fan website with the former involved in its promotion, but many on the outside are now concerned that the entire event may be fake or even a scam.

The official website of Million Dollar Fan described the event as a high-stakes reality competition where fans and streamers will compete together. The event purports to have a prize of $20 million, and suggests that participating fans would be selected via sweepstakes-style entries or contest slips. Several well-known streamers, including ExtraEmily, Alexandra Botez, Andrea Botez, Knut, and Yvonne “Yvonnie” Ng are mentioned on the site.

After the competition gained public attention, some online began speculating that it may not even be real, alleging that the streamers’ names were used to increase the event’s credibility. ExtraEmily had responded to the allegations, and the Million Dollar Fan website and social media are now inaccessible.

Concerns raised over Million Dollar Fan legitimacy

The streaming community has reacted critically to the Million Dollar Fan event, with many expressing concern that the show may be fake, or even a scam, by citing the sparse information available and the massive prize.

Some fans took to social forums to dissect the information they found about Million Dollar Fan, noting that the company behind the project has no previous revenue or experience. The website was initially launched in 2023, with an emphasis on celebrities, and relaunched in 2026 with a mention of collaborating with some of the most-watched Twitch streamers.

The grand prize was also reportedly initially $10 million, but it was later changed to $20 million without further context. The rules explicitly state “Approximate retail value of each prize is $0,” which has further fueled speculations about the event.

Another issue fans cited is the website mentioning no details about the venue, date, or organizers of the project. Some also pointed out that the company was allowing individuals to purchase multiple entries, with no limits, to make participation fair. The event also doesn’t have a refund policy, and its terms state that entrants can’t file lawsuits against the company.

ExtraEmily was one of the streamers promoting the Million Dollar Fan event, and she addressed the scam discussion, claiming she wasn’t misleading fans. The content creator stated that Mythic Talent had actually pitched the event to her, and that she agreed to post about the competition but wasn’t “backing” it. Not everyone put much weight into this claim, with some suggesting that the streamer was inherently backing the event by promoting it.

She also said she doesn’t have the complete information about the event, but that she wasn’t trying to pull one over on her fans. She apologized for not researching the event before promoting, and told fans she will find out more information and update the community.

ExtraEmily’s response wasn’t received well, with some criticizing her for promoting an event without checking on its validity. Others criticized the streamer and content organization Mythic Talent for being the one to offer the promotion to its streamers without checking the legitimacy of the event.

Regardless of the community’s take, the legitimacy of Million Dollar Fan remains unclear, but the project reducing its public visibility and taking down some social media accounts after facing this scrutiny certainly isn’t a good look.
