Valorant YouTuber WestJett was recently called out by former pro player Shahzeeb “ShahZaM” Khan for continuing to make drama videos on him after a recent breakup. Just who is WestJett, and why is he a controversial figure in the the Valorant scene?
YouTuber WestJett rose to fame making Valorant content, but his content has changed a bit over the years. He started his channel in 2020 and began to see a rapid increase in viewership in 2021 — his video titled “Best Night Market” now has over 3.8 million views.
The Russian-born content creator has since shifted focus, however. A quick look at his most recent videos reveals largely social commentary videos about politics and other streamers. One of his targets in streaming has often been ShahZaM, starting with a YouTube video called “Why I Hate ShahZaM.”
A few years ago, WestJett started “sneak dissing” ShahZaM on social media, calling him out for “crazy tweets.” WestJett’s “Why I Hate ShahZaM” video claims that the popular Valorant player responded by “making up” things about him. After a bit of back-and-forth, ShahZaM flagged a previous video WestJett had made about him.
“This slimy weasel will do anything to get his way and silence any criticism,” WestJett said a year ago.
Since then, WestJett has continued to make videos expressing his dislike of ShahZaM, which has been met with mixed reactions from the Valorant community. On February 14, ShahZaM confirmed he broke up with his girlfriend and WestJett decided to take another stab at him.
In a video called “Huge Breakup Drama,” WestJett discussed the breakup, which allegedly happened in August 2024. In the video, WestJett made fun of ShahZaM’s ex for defending herself on X after announcing the breakup and “larping” being in a relationship for six months. He did say, however, that she could redeem herself since her biggest crime was “dating ShahZaM, the cockroach.” He then called ShahZaM a “perpetual victim” and “the most immature person on the planet.”
Huge Breakup Drama
In response to the video mocking his breakup, ShahZaM tweeted a plea to the Valorant community to stop interacting with WestJett, who he called a “bigoted and hateful person.” ShahZaM tweeted that he’d been attacked by WestJett’s videos for three years, accusing him of being “obsessed with me on deranged levels.”
“Channels like his are held to no standard of the truth,” ShahZaM said. “I’m tired of this constant one-sided harassment.”
ShahZaM has been getting an outpouring of support across social media after this latest exchange. So far, WestJett has not responded to the tweet or to ShahZaM’s latest words on the topic.
