Streamers that have migrated from Twitch to Kick might want to use its host feature, which works similar to raiding on Twitch.
One feature that Twitch has made popular is Twitch raids. The feature is interesting because it allows a streamer to essentially share their present viewers with another streamer. This can be extremely beneficial for smaller content creators as the exposure can promote their channels significantly.
Those who are new to Kick or are thinking about switching to the platform might wonder if it has a similar feature, and the answer is yes. Kick hosting is similar to the Twitch raid feature, and streamers can use it to help out other streamers. But while the two features are similar, there are a few differences, and streamers may want to know how best to use Kick hosting.
Kick hosting is a feature that allows a streamer to redirect their audience to another streamer’s channel to give them more exposure.
When a streamer hosts someone, their viewers are automatically redirected to the other content creator’s channel. This allows the creator being hosted to gain more exposure from viewers that may follow the streamer being hosted if they enjoy their content. Even if the new viewers don’t start following the channel, getting more viewers is always a positive thing for streamers working to build an audience.
Streamers generally make use this feature to help out their friends. Kick hosting is also a good way for streamers to build a positive rapport with other content creators. It isn’t mandatory to do, the streamers that use the feature may want to do something helpful for other streamers working their way up on the platform.
Users can host another streamer on Kick by enabling the feature in the Creator Dashboard.
Hosting someone on Kick is a straightforward process, but there are some requirements for using the feature. Both the streamer hosting and the streamer being hosted must be live streaming, and the streamer hosting another channel must have at least 5 active viewers at the time of hosting.
Once a streamer meets these requirements, they can follow these steps to host another streamer on Kick:
If the steps have been followed successfully, then the streamer will get a notification that they are hosting another channel. The streamer can then stop recording as their own channel will no longer be live. Viewers will automatically be redirected to the channel being hosted.
