Evo 2025 game lineup leaked early, here's what was revealed

Despite months still remaining before the event gets underway, the Evo 2025 lineup of games was leaked early thanks to a YouTube thumbnail that revealed every game to be played at the flagship fighting game event.

Evo, short for the Evolution Championship Series, is one of the most prestigious events dedicated solely to fighting games. From Tekken to Street Fighter, the event has some staple games that consistently appear on an annual basis. Fighting game fans gather around the same time every year to see if their favorite players can take home a big win.

The lineup for Evo has slowly seen a shift over the years. Games such as Dragon Ball FighterZ and Skullgirls: 2nd Encore have come and gone. Thanks to this, every fan ponders the question of which games will appear in this year’s lineup. It seems Evo 2025’s lineup was leaked early before the announcement show’s date.

What games will be at Evo 2025?

Evo 2025’s lineup of games includes heavy hitters such as Tekken 8 and Street Fighter 6, and there aren’t really any surprise entries joining them in a roster of games similar to last year’s.

The complete lineup of games for Evo 2025 will be announced on January 14, 2025, as revealed in the scheduled 2025 Evo announcement show video on YouTube. Fans won’t have to wait till then, as the scheduled video’s thumbnail revealed the lineup for Evo 2025 early.

Evo 2025 games lineup

All the games revealed for Evo 2025’s lineup are listed below.

Arguably the lineup’s biggest surprise is that Mortal Kombat 1 will appear in Evo 2025. With reports that Warner Bros. Games canceled future DLC for the game, many fans assumed it would slowly die out. Appearing in a high-profile event like Evo suggests WB may have something in store for the Mortal Kombat series, or that developer Netherrealm Studios will be announcing its next big game.

Evo 2024’s games lineup had The King of Fighters XV, though it seems absent from 2025’s lineup. Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves will also make a surprise return after being featured in Evo 2024. As for the throwback tournament, it makes sense to feature Marvel vs. Capcom 2 as the game turns 25. Evo 2024 did something similar when it added Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike to celebrate its 25th anniversary.

Some fans had hoped to see Virtua Fighter 5 included given the upcoming release of Virtua Figher 5 Revo and the reveal that a brand-new Virtua Fighter game is also in development, but it wasn’t to be.

When will Evo 2025 take place?

Evo 2025 is slated to take place from August 1 to August 3 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Like Evo 2024, the event will take place at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Nevada has been the home of Evo since 2007, so the location and venue won’t surprise many. Expecting major announcements, especially for Virtua Fighter 6 and 2XKO, fans of the genre will no doubt tune in to watch the event in full.
