Pass missions for LoL Season 1.

With a new season comes a new League of Legends pass, and there are numerous missions for players to complete along the way.

The newly named Season 1 of League of Legends promises several new developments for players. From introducing new champion Mel Medarda to bringing fresh overarching narratives for the year and a recommitment to exclusivity, there could be something for everyone. For those who really want to get the most out of this new beginning, they should look into the new season pass for rewards that can’t be found anywhere else. That is, of course, if they can unlock them.

Here are the missions players can expect to see on their quest to receive Prestige Masque of the Black Rose Katarina and more.

Progress in League of Legends Season 1 by completing pass missions

League of Legends Season 1 introduces new seasonal pass missions, each of which provides XP.

In Season 1, there are six different kinds of missions to complete. Each offers a different amount of XP relative to difficulty and potentially other in-game bonuses. The types of missions are:

Several mission types allow players to earn XP just by playing games of LoL. The Daily mission, for example, awards 50 XP for playing a match, and aren’t even limited to winning matches like most previous iterations. Weekly missions come in groups of five, rotating from a larger set of 15. One set mission each week is to play a certain number of games for 175 XP. Finally, there are two General missions available. One is a repeatable task to play games and the other is a non-repeatable goal of winning 15 ranked games. Each of these missions is worth 125 XP.

Mastery missions are a continuation of the Mastery Set, a series of milestones that reward players for trying out and developing expertise with different champions. Players can earn up to 1500 XP for completing the first Mastery Set mission. Smaller goals, such as reaching milestone 4 for a single champion, still give a hefty 500 XP.

Finally, the Act and Event missions are both longer-term goals for interested players. Act missions come in tiered milestones of progress and take place over the entirety of Act 1. Though likely taking more time to complete, each completed act mission earns players 250 XP. Event missions will go live as events come about over the course of Season 1, with no other specific information yet being known.

The easiest way to earn XP towards the season pass seems to be to simply play and win as many games as possible. For those who despise the grind, they can always wait to see how the weekly missions cycle or how event missions play out.

League Season 1 pass rewards include Black Rose skins, mythic essence

Completing League pass missions brings players closer to different seasonal rewards in Season 1, depending on which pass they have access to.

The League of Legends Noxus Act 1 pass skins, including Masque of the Black Rose Vladimir and Katarina.

There are three different pass tracks available for Season 1, ranging in cost between 0 and 3,650 RP. Higher tiers have better, more exclusive rewards. With just the free season pass, players can get one random seasonal skin, multiple emotes, and other low-level rewards.

For 2,650 RP, completing pass missions unlocks the exclusive Masque of the Black Rose skins as well as Ancient Sparks and all items in the free track. Lastly, those who invest in the pricey 3,650 RP pass get everything previously listed plus a batch of mythic essence and the Prestige Masque of the Black Rose Katarina chroma.

Players have until mid-April to complete as many pass missions as possible before their chance to get the exclusive Black Rose skins is gone forever. Only by earning XP can they progress through the listed levels and claim their prize.
