Valorant at the EWC 2026 preview, details, predictions, and more

We don’t get too many international Valorant tournaments in a year, but the Esports World Cup is certainly one of them. 16 of the top Valorant teams gather in Paris to compete for millions of dollars. If you’re looking to catch the action, here’s everything you need to know about Valorant at the 2026 Esports World Cup.
Valorant at EWC 2026 format and details
The Esports World Cup is one of the biggest Valorant tournaments of the year, as there is a whopping $2 million up for grabs. The event will run from July 2 to 12, seeing the best Valorant teams in the world duke it out until there’s only one left standing.
Valorant at the Esports World Cup will use two phases to weed out teams. The group stage divides the 16 participants into four groups of four. The top two teams from each group advance to the Playoffs, while the bottom two are sent home immediately.
At the Playoffs, the top eight teams are seeded into a Single-Elimination bracket – one loss and you’re out. All matches, excluding the Grand Final, will be played in Best-of-three format. Meanwhile, the Grand Final will be played in Best-of-five format for all the marbles.
The winning team will earn themselves $600,000, which is a pretty handsome amount for less than two weeks of work. On top of the cash prize, the EWC will also name a tournament MVP, and the best Valorant player of the event will earn a nice bonus of $25,000.

Valorant at the Esports World Cup 2026 predictions
With the likes of Paper Rex and G2 Esports finding themselves eliminated in the group stage, we’re now pointing at Team Vitality as the frontrunner to win it all. The team is filled with experienced players and are in top shape – it really feels like a win at the Esports World Cup could really put themselves on the map.

However, if it’s not meant to be for Team Vitality, then Team Heretics, Nongshim RedForce, and NRG Esports also have a great shot at taking the title. These teams are proven winners and are hungry for another title. Team Heretics are also the defending Esports World Cup champions, so their motivation of becoming back-to-back winners is sky-high.
If we’re looking at dark horses in the playoffs, MIBR and BBL Esports are definitely worth keeping a close eye on. These teams have cracked individuals that can take over maps, but they haven’t looked too sharp in the group stage so far.
