MWI 2025

There is only one game that has two tournaments in the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2026—and that is Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB). With a separate women’s tournament, the MLBB Women’s International (MWI), is set to take place in Paris from July 14 to 18 with a prize pool of $525,000 on the line.

Notably, the MWI was earlier called the Women’s Invitational, which was first held in 2022 with teams from only SEA. It later joined the inaugural Esports World Cup (EWC) 2024 and expanded to teams globally.

Now, with the name change, MOONTON is making the MWI the pinnacle of women’s MLBB esports by turning it into the culmination for the women’s circuit.

MWI 2026 format explained

There are 16 teams in the fray for the MWI champion title. The first stage of their competition are the groups. Here, they have been split into two groups—A and B—with eight teams in each.

Within their groups, the teams will compete in a double elimination bracket with the top four making it to the Knockout Stage. The match-ups are as follows:

Finally, in the Knockout Stage, the eight teams will compete in a single-elimination bracket to crown the champions.

All matches, with a few exceptions, will be played in a best-of-three format. The exceptions include the semifinals and third place match (best-of-five) and the grand final (best-of-seven).

Favorites to win

The favorites to take home the trophy are Team Vitality. The team is coming into this tournament after signing a historic contract until 2030 with the French organization.

The other team to watch out for are Gen G Esports, which comprises Sharifan “Aria” Fakrrurozi, Cindy “Panda” Zhou, Jessica “Sayori” Cao from last year’s Gaimin Gladiators squad that finished in the runners-up position. Keep this in mind when participating in EWC Play’s Fantasy.

Both teams are also fighting for the Esports World Cup (EWC) Club Championship 2026 which makes this tournament even more crucial.
