2026 Esports World Cup

The 2026 Esports World Cup is on the horizon, and here is information on every game that fans can expect to see this year.

While the Esports World Cup certainly isn’t the oldest annual tournament, it’s definitely one of the most successful. Whether it’s because of T1’s massive win at the first-ever League of Legends EWC or Team Falcons dominating the overall leaderboards of last year’s tournament, esports fans worldwide band together to root for their favorite teams.

2026’s Esports World Cup is approaching quickly, and it’s slated to be the biggest one yet with a huge opening ceremony planned as well. Adopting a weekly schedule filled to the brim with various games, every day will bring something great to watch.

This year, the tournament is set to take place in Paris, France for the first time after the venue was shifted from Saudi Arabia due to logistical and security concerns stemming from the Iran-US conflict.

But which games have made the cut this year?

What games are in the 2026 Esports World Cup?

2026’s Esports World Cup games list features the largest lineup in the tournament’s history, with 24 competitive games in the fray.

Despite there being 24 games, this year’s event will have 25 tournaments. This is because Mobile Legends: Bang Bang will receive separate men’s and women’s competitions, giving more time and spotlight to the massive MOBA and ensuring that there are two MLBB Esports World Cup winners this year.

2025’s Esports World Cup also saw 24 games in its lineup. While the lineup isn’t exactly the same this year, this suggests that the Esports Foundation wants to keep the number of games in the event around the same annually.

What games were removed from the 2026 EWC?

Two games that were part of 2025’s Esports World Cup lineup are missing this year, including a fan-favorite.

The EWC announced the first 20 games to be included in its 2026 lineup on October 8, 2025. Fans quickly noticed that Rennsport, Rocket League, StarCraft II, and Tekken 8 were missing from the announcement, despite being present in 2025’s event.

Epic Games soon partnered with the EWC to ensure that Fortnite and Rocket League would get spots in this year’s event. Tekken 8 was also confirmed in the lineup shortly after the initial announcement.

Rennsport was directly replaced by Trackmania, ensuring there’s still at least one racing game in the event. However, StarCraft II’s absence essentially means that the 2026 Esports World Cup won’t have any real-time strategy games in its lineup. While this did cause some criticism from the RTS community, StarCraft II fans still have some tournaments that clash with the Esports World Cup schedule.

Is Fortnite one of the 2026 Esports World Cup games?

While Fortnite will have a presence in the 2026 Esports World Cup, it won’t be the way most fans are likely expecting.

Fortnite was part of 2024’s Esports World Cup but didn’t appear in 2025’s event. While Fortnite is present in this year’s Esports World Cup prediction markets and games lineup, the participating teams and players won’t be competing in the traditional battle royale mode. Fans also won’t see custom maps, as was the case in 2024.

Instead, the event will be played in Fortnite Reload as part of the Fortnite Reload Elite Series. This is a faster-paced 40-player mode with a tighter map and reboots on elimination as long as at least one player of a squad is still alive. Reboots ultimately get disabled in the endgame, when most of the fighting will likely happen.
