What is the Drop the Boss game and why is everyone talking about it?

Drop the Boss is a new Stake-exclusive gambling game where wins rely on everything that happens during the boss’ fall. The game is designed to keep players entertained even if you’re playing the free mode, and it parodies the great and good of the United States, including President Donald Trump.
Very few gambling games are just as fun without any money involved. When you play these games, you can tell that the provider put a lot of thought into the design. Drop the Boss is one such game that would keep you hooked for hours, and it’s even better when you wager on the boss’ fall. The concept is quite similar to recently released Cut N’ Crash, but Drop the Boss feels more rewarding.
Drop the Boss is a physics-based game with a few political themes sprinkled in, but beyond that it is genuinely entertaining. With 96% RTP, walking away in profit is far from out of the question, so we can see this becoming hugely popular with casino streamers as it gets more established.
How to play online game Drop the Boss
Drop the Boss is available to play on Stake for free, but players can also place bets between $0.1 to $500. Here’s how to play Drop the Boss:
- Go to Drop the Boss’ official hub on Stake and wait for the game to load
- Click on the orange “Continue” button
- Set your base bet by clicking on the +,- buttons
- Click on “Bet” to drop the boss from the aero plane
Once Boss drops from the plane, the round is entirely out of your hands. All that is left to do is watch as he descends and hope for the best. Along the way, various obstacles and events can either work in your favor or bring your round to a sudden stop. In some cases, the round ends abruptly with no payout at all. That happens when the boss is sucked into the plane engine or taken away mid-fall, forcing you to place a new bet and start over.
If you wish to play for free, simply select “fun play” from the Stake UI to reload the game. Follow the same method of play to get the feel of the game with zero deposit.
Drop the Boss gameplay and features
The objective in Drop the Boss is simple: keep Boss’ from hitting zero for as long as possible, because the longer and more eventful his descent, the bigger the payout. Every action Boss performs or encounters during his fall adds to a running multiplier. The main character is clearly based on Donald Trump and he will make familiar lines as he falls.
Here is exactly how each event contributes:
- Collect a Mega Hat: +0.2x multiplier per hat
- Hit a Coin: +2.0x multiplier
- Complete a Front Flip or Backflip: +0.1x multiplier per flip
- Travel Distance: +1x multiplier for every in-game meter travelled
As long as the boss is mid air, all is well, and players are in the green. On the surface, Drop the Boss seems like a game that inherently works in the favor of the player, but that is unfortunately not the case. Some clouds and hurdles can disrupt the journey.

Hitting Storm Clouds can cut the gathered win in half. Worse still, two events result in a complete loss with zero payout: an Engine Disaster, and Eagle attack. Engine Disaster is when the boss gets stuck inside the plane engine, whereas the latter summons a giant eagle that grabs the boss as lunch.
How to win big in Drop the Boss?
The biggest wins in Drop the Boss are triggered when you complete the journey and land safely. The game rewards the landing with special boosts that multiply whatever you’ve earned throughout the round.

When Boss reaches the bottom, colliding with certain obstacles triggers bonus awards that can dramatically change the final payout:
- Truck Award: Multiplies total win by 5x
- Second Best Friend Award: Squares the entire payout multiplier (e.g. a 5x multiplier becomes 25x)
- Chump Towers Award: Multiplies total win by 50x
- Golden Tee Award: Multiplies total win by 100x
- White House Award: Adds a flat 5,000x to the win, but only if Boss enters through a secret entrance hidden under the flag
The mid-round special K-Hole Feature is triggered when the boss falls into a black hole during his descent. When this happens, an Elon Musk-inspired rocket man is launched toward “Mars” and a random multiplier between 1x and 11x is awarded, which then multiplies the total accumulated winnings at that exact moment.
As this game is exclusively at Stake, it cannot be played at any other Bitcoin betting sites.
