Dr Disrespect re-monetized on YouTube, so what's next?
Guy “Dr Disrespect” Beahm’s streaming career took a much-needed positive turn, with the personality telling his fans that he was re-monetized on YouTube.
2024 was a disastrous year for Dr Disrespect. The former face of Twitch answered the long-standing question of why he was
banned from the top streaming platform, confirming that he had exchanged sexual messages with a minor on Twitch. While the bombastic streamer was able to rebound from this to some degree by broadcasting on YouTube, his admission resulted in him being demonetized by the platform and removed from various partnerships,
including NBA 2k24.
This made it uncertain that Dr Disrespect would be able to continue streaming. With his Twitch ban firmly in place and his YouTube channel earning $0, he may have been forced to the industry’s fringes. That has now changed.
Dr Disrespect announces YouTube channel being re-monetized
On a YouTube stream, Dr Disrespect stated that his channel had been re-monetized.
The streamer was clearly emotional over this, pacing around before he made the announcement.
“Champs, we’ve got some f——- good news today…monetization is back. We’ve got to set up, we’ve got to regulate certain things regarding donations on YouTube…but ladies and gentlemen, we got our YouTube monetization back,” Dr Disrespect said.
The streamer continued, swinging back and forth between being overwhelmed and extremely excited. He also pointed out the irony of this news coming at the same time as the closing of Midnight Society. Midnight Society was a game development that partnered with Dr Disrespect on an
NFT-focused battle royale shooter.

Dr Disrespect will stay on YouTube while continuing with Rumble
Dr Disrespect is seemingly set to continue streaming on Rumble despite being re-monetized on YouTube.
The career of Dr Disrespect has been a much-discussed topic, in large part due to how many wouldn’t have him. Alongside his Twitch ban, Dr Disrespect was in a subtle public negotiation over a potential move to Kick. The two sides never came to terms, with Dr Disrespect stating that Kick made a huge offer and that he appreciated it, but would remain focused on YouTube. Following Dr Disrespect confirming the reason for his ban, Kick executives said in interviews that they would no longer pursue a contract with him.
Dr Disrespect received a windfall when he
signed a contract with Rumble. As part of the deal, he says that he will receive equity in the platform after reaching milestones and has an advisory role in the company’s gaming division.
Because of this, Dr Disrespect is likely set to maintain his output on Rumble including exclusive content.
Still, Dr Disrespect has been streaming on YouTube on multiple occasions each week despite being demonetized. At the very least, his channel being re-monetized will ensure that he remains on YouTube instead of going exclusive with Rumble. For the time being, it also likely closes the door on him signing a deal with Kick or another upstart streaming platform.
