Dplus sweeps Karmine Corp to win the 2026 LoL EWC grand final

The League of Legends Esports World Cup 2026 grand final just concluded, where Dplus absolutely swept Karmine Corp to win it all.

The League of Legends Esports World Cup may only have been taking place since 2024, but it has already become a key international event for fans and professional players. With a large prize pool and consecutive matches with little delay, fans have a blast seeing their favorite teams duke it out on the big stage.

2026’s EWC just concluded, and it was more surprising than many likely assumed. Some key favorites were eliminated early, and the grand final was between Dplus and Karmine Corp, which both came into the tournament as underdogs. Unfortunately, the third-place match may have been more impressive.

How Dplus cruised through the LoL EWC 2026 grand final

While Dplus went into the grand final match as the underdog, most wrongly assumed that Karmine Corp would at least give a good showing.

The first game was interesting from the start, especially since both top laners essentially chose ADC champions. Caliste gave it his all in the bottom lane, but between Smash’s excellent kills and Lucid’s reliable ganks, Dplus had a fed Kai’Sa that comfortably took down every player. Of course, it helped that the LEC team’s ADC was playing extremely safe for some reason.

With the first game under its belt, Dplus made another statement in the second game. While Canna tried his best to make a difference, he was the only one who won his lane. Lucid was clearly the better jungler, and Career was a surprisingly good support on Lux. Naturally, Smash killed it in this game as well, landing Dplus its second win.

Surprisingly, the third game was even more of a stomp. Karmine Corp could only get a meager five kills in the entire game. Meanwhile, three Dplus players were extremely fed by the time the game ended. With a final kill counter of 23 kills by the time Dplus won the third and final game, it was clear that KC was out of its depth.

This win cemented Dplus as one of the stronger teams this year, but it also gave it a nice win of $600,000. Smash also got a bonus of $25,000 for being the MVP of the tournament, which should likely further help the team’s overall financial issues.

With this being said, it’s hard to argue that the grand final was too much of a stomp. The third-place match between T1 and Gen.G was arguably more impressive, which seems to be a recent trend when looking at the ongoing football World Cup. Gen.G came out on top in that match, giving T1 fourth place.
