With both teams boasting undefeated records in this young 2026 LCK season, Dplus KIA and Gen.G will now face off as the top teams in the 2026 LCK Cup group battle stage, and our predictions may help fans to decide which team to favor.

Dplus KIA’s recent performance has been good since last year, but not quite strong enough to land the team spots in any international tournaments. The team is now leading Group Elder while undefeated in the new year, but there is a strong chance that the 2026 LCK Cup’s odds favorite Gen.G will break that winning streak.

Dplus vs Gen.G match overview

Betting tip: Dplus has a strong chance of surprising Gen.G with its strength, taking the match to a third map.

Our Dplus vs Gen.G pick: Total maps to be over 2.5 @ 2.31.

Dplus vs Gen.G match analysis

Dplus KIA may have primarily played against fairly weak teams in the LCK Cup so far, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have the potential to give the region’s top teams a run for their money as well. In particular, Showmaker has already proven his proficiency in the mid lane. The 2020 League of Legends World Championship winner has already had to carry his team to victory multiple times, but the addition of Smash in the bottom lane could help the team with an added boost of finishing strength.

Smash played for T1 Challengers and the main T1 team, and performed well on both ends. His addition to Dplus pushed the team from a middling team to one that almost won against T1 in 2025’s Kespa Cup, showcasing the move’s immediate impact. Pair this with Career’s consistent gameplay as the team’s support, adding great value by roaming and helping with vision and jungle objectives, and Showmaker may finally return in the conversation among the best professional mid-laners now that his team seems better suited to play around him.

All of this isn’t to say that Gen.G is at serious risk of being overshadowed. The team is one of the strongest in the world for a reason, and the new split has only cemented that.

While Gen.G’s Chovy should be a good match for Showmaker in the middle lane, the team’s primary advantage is in having the better top laner and jungler. Still, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Dplus KIA’s newfound strength helps the team secure one game, catching Gen.G off guard with its aggressiveness. This could make betting on the over the odds for on 2.5 maps a good idea, as well as siding with Dplus to get the first kill.

Ultimately, while Dplus will likely perform well, our predictions indicate that it still may not be enough for the team to win against a powerhouse the likes of Gen.G.

Between Gen.G’s Kiin being the more reliable top laner and the team’s jungler Canyon executing jungle objectives more consistently than DK’s Lucid, there’s a good chance that Gen.G will walk away from the match as the victor.

Dplus vs Gen.G betting picks & predictions

Dplus has improved significantly compared to how the team was playing last year, primarily because the team now has a more reliable ADC. But Smash still needs time to settle into his role as this team’s carry, and while he has some experience competing against the top LCK sides, our predictions hold that his relative lack of experience could let Gen.G’s bot lane get the upper hand to help win the match over KT.
