Dota 2’s TI patch, 7.41e, has arrived alongside a plethora of new features and fixes

We’re just under two weeks away from the kick off of Dota 2’s premier tournament, The International, and the patch that will see us through the 15th edition of the event has landed. Valve released the Dota 2 7.41e late on Thursday evening, or in the small hours of the morning if you’re EU based.

With it came a big variety of updates and changes, from the gameplay update proper, to a mass bug and quality-of-life changes patch entitled the “Summer Scrub 2026,” and of course, the compendium, fantasy, and supporter packs for TI15. Here’s everything you need to know about Dota 2’s 7.41e update, and why this is very likely to be the final patch we get before pros battle it out for the chance to lift the Aegis of Champions.

Dota 2 patch 7.41e brings big changes, the Summer Scrub, and Supporter’s Bundles

The meat of this update is of course the in-game changes. This is the patch that’s headed into TI, unless some small additional tweaks come out ahead of the tournament.

The biggest and most pertinent changes for competitive play are the, of course, the nerfs to Zeus, Drow Ranger, and Snapfire. These were the three big ‘broken’ picks of the last few months, with the latter two in particular taking over the pro scene and having a big impact at EWC 26.

Drow had her multishot severely nerfed, with higher mana costs, lower range, and reduced bonus damage, while Snapfire had the majority of her kit tweaked, meaning gatling gun Snapfire isn’t as appealing anymore. The base damage on Zeus’s Thunder God’s Wrath was nerfed, as well as an indirect nerf thanks to the changes to Spell Amp Divine Rapiers.

Bane and Beastmaster received some tweaks that may push them out of the “must-pick” category (although the Nightmare changes for Bane should keep him relevant). The big winners from this patch are likely Elder Titan, Gyrocopter, and Queen of Pain. QoP in particular should see more play, with her potential for 1v5ing improving.

For full details on the changes, check out the change log. If you’re looking at predicting a TI-winner, then this patch is some of the best information you’re going to get. You can look at whose heroes are strong, and who got hit with a nerf right before TI. TI-winner prediction markets are already live, so check them out when you get a chance.

Dota 2’s Summer Scrub 2026

Beyond just tweaks and changes to heroes though, Dota 2 patch 7.41e also unveiled the Summer Scrub 2026. This dramatic set of changes has fixed approximately 200+ bugs and also made some quality-of-life changes to the game. Customizable hotkeys for controlled units is a nice example, but there’s also a host of changes to make life easier specifically for Dota Plus users.

But the big change everyone is talking about has to be the soft-ranked reset. This affected primarily Immortal matchmaking, and recalculated all Immortal players to a rank of between 9,500 MMR and 1 MMR. No more 17,000 MMR monsters on the ladder, but the threshold for Immortal Draft remains 8,500. As a result some higher MMR players have complained about losing access to it, but in theory, the scaling will see them rise back to the appropriate level in due time.

Overall, the changes feel very good, and if you’re outside of Immortal rank (like myself) the MMR changes should be negligible or none at all. And if you’re looking for full details on the changes, Valve also made a full page detailing them.

Supporter’s Packs, Fantasy and Voice Lines

The final addition for this update are the Predictions, Fantasy, and Supporter Bundles. Supporters bundles function exactly the same as previous years, where you have three tiers with various voice lines, backgrounds, and ways to show your support for teams. There’s also caster voice lines for all TI talent. This has also functioned as a soft announcement of which talent will be making it to TI this year in Shanghai.

Finally there’s predictions and fantasy. Predictions are the same as previous years, but Fantasy has been tweaked. The Carry and Offlane roles have been combined with their respective carries, so now you just pick three selections. Modifiers then come from the coach. There’s still some familiar features, like the prefix and suffix system, but overall there’s less depth to fantasy this year. Once again, there’s more details here.

Overall, this is the most underwhelming part of the update. This is not a compendium and not really a battle pass, again, although we have the ongoing Dark Carnival event to enjoy. TI is just around the corner though, and fans can get excited about the biggest event in the Dota 2 calendar.
